A good friend gave me a Raymarine A60 display and a DSM25 Digital Sounder Module that I am planning on installing on my working tug this summer.....that will give me chart plotting and bottom display that will allow me to really improve my diving.
My question....I know that I will need to buy a GPS module and a Transducer to complete the unit....but the boat already has a good Transducer mounted...and it looks like it has the same plug configuration...but was used with a SITEX fishfinder....will it work with the Raymarine ? It is the same frequency. Or do I need to buy a Raymarine Transducer ?

Almost all of the transducers are made by Airmar. If you can cross reference the Sitex number and RayMarine numbers, Airmar can probably tell you if it is OK.
My guess is that it is. However, it is possible that the wiring could be different--and you don't want to take a chance of burning out the sending transmitter.
Another possibility is to find someone on the site who has the RayMarine transducer, and have them use a DVM to see what the readings on the plugs are--if the same, then it should be OK _________________ Bob Austin
