2002 C-dory Tomcat 24 $43,500 (Bellingham)

Penny and I are considering a bit bigger boat with more amenities (maybe a Ranger tug!) and room for the grandkids. The first step in this process is to sell our beloved tomcat, C-weetness. At the time that I am writing this, there will be three tomcat 24s on the market, probably a first for C-brats. We are pricing C-weetness aggressively (at least we think so!), in order to facilitate a quick sale (at least we hope so!). C-weetness is a 2002 24 foot tomcat that we bought two years ago from Marc at Wefings in Florida. Cory of Sharp Yacht Transport brought her to us just in time for Christmas 2010. C-weetness was in good shape when we received her, but we have made a number of improvements, as indicated below. Here is a list of her fittings:

** Engines are fuel injected F115 Yamahas with approximately 540 hours. Last year (2011), at 500 hours, we had the engines thoroughly serviced by a certified Yamaha mechanic. The service (on each engine) included new thermostats, new oil pumps, new high pressure fuel filters, new spark plugs, new anodes, new pressure regulators, new manifold and cylinder gaskets, new fuel injectors, new impellers, and new water pumps. We also had the tilt and trim units checked. It was expensive, but the motors run flawlessly and should require only routine maintenance for quite some time. Each motor also has an external 10micron racor fuel filter. Props currently on the motors are aluminum, and the spares are stainless steel.

** Electronics include a raymarine 70C radar/chartplotter, a garmin 240 sounder/fishfinder, and a Standard Horizon Eclipse+ vhf transceiver. Last year (2011), we replaced the old sportpilot autopilot with a new S100 autopilot with a remote control (love the remote). We also replaced the older GPS puck with a new one.

** Steering is Seastar hydraulic, and the system was bled and checked when the new autopilot was installed.

** There is a Guest 10 amp battery charger, with shore power supplied by a 50’ 30amp power cord, with a pig tail.

** Batteries include two group 24 house batteries and two group 24 starting batteries. I believe they were new in 2009.

** The galley includes a stainless steel sink and a Wallas diesel cooker. In 2011, we had the Wallas pulled and shipped to Scan Marine in Seattle where they did a complete servicing of the unit. It has worked well for us with no problems. There is also a norcold refrigerator under the helmseat.

** We have 20 gallons of fresh water storage, two gas tanks that hold 116 gallons combined, a macerator with a holding tank. The toilet is an electric marine head and is fully enclosed just forward of the helm (not as nice as the newer tomcats and without a shower, but it is better than a porta pottie).

** The cockpit has a raw water wash down and a complete camper back with screens and eisenglass. The windows in the cabin are each fitted with custom snap on curtains for privacy.

** We are in the process of recovering the cushions in the berth and helm seat. If anyone acts quickly enough you can have your choice of colors. If not, we will likely choose a tan color to contrast with the blue of the other cushions.

** There are stainless steel grab rails in the cabin. Two of the front windows have electric windshield wipers. The electric windlass is a Simpson-Lawrence 400 model with 50' of chain and 150' of warp.

** There is a swim step with a three step swim ladder.

** The price includes a 2002 Magic Tilt dual axel trailer set up explicitly for the tomcat. There are two spare tires. To be honest, we have not used trailer since we bought the boat, as we do not have a tow rig. We store the boat at Hilton Harbor in Bellingham where there is a sling launch. The trailer is pulled from our parking spot to the launch whenever we go out. Since we have owned the boat, it has been on the road only when West Coast Marine tows the boat for servicing. I assume that the trailer is fully serviceable.

** The hull is in good shape with the usual dings for a ten year old boat. I tried a bit of gel coat repair and must admit that I am not good at it (color matching is not my strength), but any issues are strictly cosmetic. At five paces you cannot notice my slight off color gelcoat work. The bottom is painted, and I just touched it up this past spring.

Photos are in our folder. I will be glad to answer any questions about the boat. She has served us well, and we would like to see another c-brat (or a new c-brat) enjoy her.

So many people have posted their desires to buy a nice CD over that past 18 months that I've been watching the brats page. The last few months have shown up some really good deals on CD's of various models and years. I can think of 4 CD's in the past 18 months that have come up for sale that I'd have jumped on had I not yet bought Still Crazy. This Cat is another one. But, all of my money was spent 18 months ago and I'm delighted with the boat I ended up with.

Someone made a comment a few moths ago to a person looking for a CD that if they were patient, the right year, model, equipment and price CD would show up that would meet their needs. That is certainly true. I had 50 grand to spend when I finally committed to buying a CD, but there were many times in years past when I only had 20 grand, and even at that relatively small amount of money, a number of decent 22's have shown up on the brats.

Again, THIS TC looks like a bargain and someone should be ready to snap it up.

I agree that this seems like a great bargain for someone who wants the Tom Cat 24!
I have owned the Yahama 115 of this vintage and they are solid engines. My neighbor had a 2002 with the same engines, and they do very well on this boat which is considerably lighter than the 255 Tom Cat.

I probably would replace the trailer tires if gong more than a few miles.

C-weetness has sold! Please move this thread to the sold archives. We hope that you will all continue to welcome us to the site. I have spent so many pleasant hours perusing c-brats...even when overseas! Now to find the boat that will hold us, the kids, and the grand kids.
