B~C - you better can the upriver fishing and go for one or two more ocean shots. Tomorrow is forecast 4' at 17 seconds. You won't catch no fish, but it could be the best ocean of the summer. Time's good too, out at 7:00 and back in about 1:00 _________________ TyBoo Mike

Now that's a bunch of hooey, B~C. You'll use less gas towing to the coast and fishing the mighty Pacific than you would have used towing to and cruising from Kalama to Beacon Rock, yet you were wanting to do that. I think you are becoming trailerphobic.
Just joshing. Don't blame you a bit.
Now then, next year are we going to give them halibut a try? I think we're ready. Tuna is still a couple years out for me, but I think some fish-n-chips would be worth a shot. I bet we can talk old Greybeard into it. |

Halibut might be fun, if'n I was running out the Columbia for tuna I think I would want either a bigger boat, or, a faster boat. Anyhoots, it's looking like my Ilwaco fishing days are going to severely limited in the future. It's a pretty sure bet that I'll be bunking in Ketchikan for the next bunch of summers and driving somebody elses boat. |

Well, I believe this was my first time ever getting skunked in the ocean. Unless you want to count the two times we got hung up on crab pot lines as catching something. Left the rigging with one of them. I told the DFW fish checker that was all we caught, and he said there shouldn't have been any pots outside because the ocean is closed for crab. Wish I had known that, and I would have got my rigging back at the expense of the guy's rope, if necessary.
The water was nice. It was surprisingly choppy for the first couple hours, but was flat by the time we headed in just before high tide.
I think next summer I'll just go to Ketchikan and bum a ride with B~C on the Red Fox. |

The boat is on the trailer. That's it, we're going to Sequim.
Uncle Ritchie - I sent you a PM a long time ago, but it is still in the Outbox. Hey, that's OK - a lot of people don't do PMs. Anyhow, this is what it says:
Quote: | Did you catch any fish in that damn river? We have only caught 19 for the boat this year, and all but 5 of them were in the ocean.
It was cool finally seeing you down here after all the times I missed you. |
B~C - There were only a handful of boats out there fishing Saturday. I think today was a nicer ocean, but I didn't go. Next year while you're up by Russia driving Chivita, there will be lots of fish down here. |
