I'm looking for some advice on removing the old boat name lettering. It is painted on with what seems to be some sort of enamel. What should I use to strip it off without messing up the gelcoat? |

Methel Ethel Ketone (MEK). Nasty stuff but it really works. Make sure you use a resiperator and gloves. Wipe off with a rag as it desolves.
I am sure someone has something less intense but this stuff works and does not hurt the gelcoat just keep it off the rub rail. |

Sounds like good stuff. Is there a brand or a name I should look for on the shelves. There is a Home Depot here. |

Home Depot has it. It should be with the Asetone and other solvents. Make sute you wash and wax the area after you finish. |
