Hi Fellow C-Brats, The MTOA (Marine Trawler Owners Association) just completed their week long rendezvous in Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina ( Fernandina Beach Florida, Just north of Jacksonville). The Marina is situated right on the downtown waterfront. Their members were so impressed by the local hospitality and warm reception, they have decided to make it an annual gathering. I was thinking how nice it would be to have an annual C-Brats rendezvous here in Fernandina. I can envision day trip regattas over to St. Marys Ga. and Cumberland Island. The facilities are first rate and the marina staff are the best in the business. They have two public boat ramps in the area and free places to park trailers. The city and marina would welcome the C-Brats with open arms; why I can see the Mayor declaring C-Brats Week in Fernandina! Just thought I would throw the suggestion out there, the time of year and planned activities would be open for suggestion. I am sure the city would be happy to send out information to all interested members and the marina manager would be most happy to answer any questions on accommodations. What do you think? Perhaps we could start a dialogue on this idea and build on it? Thanks for your time and thoughts.

We were members of the MTOA for the 12 years prior to getting our TomCat. We have visited Fernandina many times by boat and by land. It is a wonderful place to have a gathering. We would try to participate

We recently spent three days in Fernandina Beach after running our TomCat up from the Keys. The marina is top notch and the town has lots to offer, much like our homeport of Annapolis. The restaurants are superb, matching the quality in Key West, and even the local pizza place, Artiste Pizza, is fantastic. We spent a night anchored off Cumberland Island which is not far. St Mary's is also nearby and worth visiting.

The marina's ramp facility and trailer parking lot makes this an ideal place to launch and haul out. We'd highly recommend Fernandina for a C-Brats gathering.

We spent an afternoon at the Marina in Fernandina a couple of years ago while I changed out some fuel lines that I thought were leaking. The Dock Master was very helpful and let me tie off with no fee while Toby went into town to explore. Afterward, we had lunch in their excellent restaurant.
We would definitely attend our first CBGT at Fernandina because of it's proximity to our home base of Merrit Island. We spent a night anchored off Cumberland Island and one night up the St. Mary's River. C.I. is beautiful and great to see the horses on the beach at low tide munching on the exposed seaweed. St. Mary's is a quaint little town with a lot of history.
Count us in!
