Hey all, I have an old 22' Cruiser with the original anchor and nav light mast; looking to replace the old bulbs with LEDs. Has anyone done this already and happen to know what the replacement bulb spec would be?

I was going to replace the whole shebang but can't find a suitable LED replacement option.......

Thanks in advance for the info!

Peter

Hi Peter,

In the WEST catalog: Ancor LED replacement bulb, "Double bayonet 360", 20 bulbs, Model # 9353905, Ancor # 529412, @ $34.99 fits my 2000 C-Dory mast perfectly.

I have a Cape Cruiser with radar. I had to install a taller mast for the anchor light to be seen over the radar dome. At the time I had them replace it with an LED.

I replaced my bulbs with "WHITE 1.25 31mm Festoon 4 LED bulbs" that I found on Ebay. Designation DE3175.

2 Bulbs were $5.33 shipped to my home.

These were a direct replacement for the original bulbs in my 1989 Perko 1125DP4CHR Mast Light.

Perfect fit, bright, cheap, energy efficient.

Please VERIFY that your boat uses the same mast light.

The last time I posted a bulb # it turned out that C-Dory had changed their cabin fixtures and the 1156 BA15S (single point, single contact, non-offset,parallel pins) that work great in Adeline (1989) were a mismatch for newer C-Dorys with fixtures that require a 1157 BA15d bulb.

Sorry Pat Cry

Thanks everyone! Gonna pop the bulb out this weekend just to be sure before I order as suggested. Smile

I just purchased the LED anchor light bulb Rick mentioned above at WM for 1/2 price, $16.98. This is the bayonet base made by ANCOR. Some mention of being discontinued or new supplier.

I bought dome and anchor lights at marinebeam.com. The website is very helpful for matching your existing bulb, and the owner was very helpful -- he called me when he suspected a problem with one of the items I had ordered. Great service!

I too went all LED running lights on my Tomcat..Star..Port..and anchor/Mast this year....but I went the more expensive but most trouble free route...I bought the whole Mast/anchor ...and running LED lights 2 mile rated units...they are completely waterproof sealed units...so no water or salt can corrode the bulb or contacts... they would work even under water!.I was tired of having to replace bulbs and clean contacts... at inconvenient times.....they are red and green .white LEDs....... not a colored lens........No more trouble....

This is what I am talking about
Completely waterproof. Made in Germany. There are no bulb contacts
You could plug this in and drop it in an aquarium and it would work

I like how the red one's $35 and the green one's $56!

Anyway, I ended up getting festoon bulbs for the Perko fixtures. I've seen no evidence of water getting into the side lights on our boat -- the gasket seal seems pretty foolproof with the wiring coming from inside.

And if your markers are submerged, you may have other problems!

Ditto. The LED is definitely whiter than the original bulb. I only changed the anchor light; I figured the other running lights are on only when we're running, so saving battery power is moot. I did change all the interior dome lights too.[/i]

I did like Mark, changed out the mast light and left the running lights alone. For the inside cabin eventually will change those out, for now I use a rechargable lantern light which works great, very bright and cheaper than replacing all the lights. I would like to add a red light to the helm area.

The marinebeam 9 LED bulbs for dome lights are great. I was going to only install one at first in the spot I thought would be used the most (over the table) and leave the rest alone. But then I bought 2 of the 23 LED bulbs and 2 of the 9 LED, all in warm white. The 23 LED bulbs are quite a bit brighter than the stock bulbs on our boat and would be overkill for the berth.
