Hello guys,
Quick question. I own a 2007, 22' Angler, bought it used less than a year ago and I need to know the name of a part. The rubber gasket/seal/whatever, that all the lines go through the bulkhead to the engine. Mine is all rotted and needs to be replaced . I need to know what its called and if you know where I can get one. Thanks |

Rubber or Vinyl Cable Boots or Rubber Grommets can be used. |

Cable Boot or Motorwell Boot. Problem is...they used different types from time to time...and there are a zillion different sizes available. Best to take off the old boot and take it to the marine supply and match it up...otherwise you will end up drilling more holes to mount the new boot. Also...unless you are feeling really energetic...just cut one side of the boot to remove it...taking all those cables and wires apart to remove the boot isn't fun. And some of the new boots come already cut. _________________ Chris

Mine was also in bad shape when I bought the C-Dog. I aquired a piece of wetsuit material. I cut it to the shape of a truncated cone, wrapped it around the cables & sewed it by hand in place negating the need to disconnect the cables to install. Worked out great & it was blue to match boat. Vern |

When you get your new boot. Just take a pair of scissors and split it open. Then install it and use about 3 or four cable ties to cinch it back together. Put the split at the bottom. It will keep the rain and transom waves out good enough. No need to disconnect and re run cables. That would be a nightmare. Your boot will have a hole pattern already in the fiberglass. Make sure you get a boot with the same hole pattern. If you are worried about the split being completely waterproof. Don't. Water can already enter where the cables enter at the top of the boot cone anyway. _________________ You can tell a man his wife is ugly, but never ever criticize his dog, his gun, his truck or his boat.

Hi Mike B,
I have a 2007 as well and the motor well boot rubber has rotted and needs replacement. It's on my list of winter projects. When I removed the rotted one there were no identifying numbers or name on the boot. So I'll have to see what the local WM or other shops have so I can try to match up the hole pattern with what's already on the boat. They do sell a boot that is already split, which will make it easier to install.

Go to www.thmarine.com. Click on search and type "boot", cr. Select your required boot, order, and install. I have not ordered from them yet but will when my boot wears out. _________________ Marlene and Dave Mason

Mine was the 5.5 inch sea dog. That is what the hole pattern is on my 2007 22. |
