Where do I find a replacement blade (rubber w/ metal reinforcement) for the front window wiper on our 1990, 16’ Angler.

Living in Iowa, the auto supply houses have nothing even close.

The blade, when taken off the arm, has two little buttons, one on each side of the center attaching mechanism, that say “PRESS TO REFILL”.

After pressing these buttons the replacement blade releases.

I notice the word “ANCO”.

The rubber blade (w/ metal reinforcement) is twelve (12) inches long.

Any ideas of a supplier of the replacement blade?

Thank you.

Regards,

Ron Fisher

I have found the flat blades at West Marine, NAPA and Auto Zone--it varies where they are available.

But if you already have an ANCO blade, which can be refilled, hopefully you can find a refill and cut it in half (22" for 2 11" blades)--thread it into the two pieces of SS you have, and put it into the old wiper. Some of the new synthetic blades are far better than the older black rubber blades.

The Anco number is 25-12 for the blade assembly, and the refill only number is 12-12. Not carried in stock in most stores as this size is not common these days...but they are available online from many vendors...even Amazon has them.

I searched the various wiper blades for a profile similar to the rubber blade in the C Dory (AFI) wiper.

The BOSCH STEELTECH, has the same profile, and dimensions. I removed the current blade and SS strips. Then removed the rubber and SS strips from a new 26" BOSCH wiper. The steel fit perfectly, and I threaded the "replacement" into the old SS wiper. When it was fully threaded, I cut the rubber, and the second blade will be refilled from the rest of this wiper.

I'll probably put a drop of "Goop" at the end of each blade to be sure that they don't slip.

Cost: about $7.00. West Marine was about $20 for each of the new wipers, and probably not as good rubber! I hated to throw away the metal parts, but that is our "modern" world--the metal is recycled.

Bob - this is a super tip on the bosch steeltech wiper. I ordered one, and sure enough it's the exact same rubber blade stock. Cost: $6 to replace BOTH blades on the boat. Just great - thank you. I'm going to order a couple more of the bosch wipers to have backups on hand.

Ron,
The NAPA part number is 60-1233, at a cost of $8.10.
