No problem Ian and Jackie, head for the dock.
The wharfinger would not take individual reservations (unless your boat is exceptionally large), he said they have been burnt in the past with 'no shows'. When I posted saying if you want to tie up, PM me, 8 did. This left 18 (by default) anchoring out. I knew more than 8 would eventually want to tie up, so I told the wharfinger to expect 15 or so at the dock. So if anyone changes their mind and decides to dock instead of anchor, go ahead and tie up (inside of D finger). If space runs out, rafting up is allowed, or if you don't want to be intimate, there will be other spaces on other fingers I'm sure.

June 10 to 22, 2012 Jan and Dan and the 16 foot Angler took the Ferry from Port Angeles WA to Victoria BC, stopped at Nanaimo for a couple of nights. We discouvered a small Cafe called 2 Chefs Affair, 123B Commercial Street. Graet Food, fun place. If you are in that part of the world don't pass it up. We headed north to Comox and met with Martin and Andrea. They are excited about the C Brat Gathering. We were the test mini boat for the cruise Matin has planned. We went to Campbell River then over to Ucluelet (Pacific side of Vancouver Island) to fish. |

Martin,
Tom and I will be bringing the C-brats box of paper plates, cups, silverware and napkins. we replenished it with a trip to costco so at this point I am sure we could seat 100people. You don;t need to buy that stuff.

Kerri on launched yesterday pacific playgrounds rv near black creek. Good ramp nice marina and facilities. Crappy wx forecast to cross the strait this am. Could see big bumpy horizon. After breakfast etc looked better so we got out for Desolation sound. Great for 5 miles then got the 20 nw radio was yakking about. 2-3 ft moderate. Kinda sloppy at 10 knots to keep down the bangs. Been cool. Dinghy lost air decided to start wandering around up there. Handed off to Carolyn for a bit to resecure. Vest on out I go. All done back to it. Bit rougher than I want to see for C who is pretty new. She got a bit quesy but we stopped near Cortes at Twin islands in a nook for a rest. I am heading for Copelands while C naps. Even when there is more weather than is comfortable, the cd gets the job done. Pleasant in the lee. Those folks coming across the strait to Comox, do be aware it is an open body of water with long fetch. It can kick your butt. Sketchy wind for a few days predicted. Be safe. George and Carolyn |

David,
Which Marina are you at, LMS or Fishermans Wharf?
We might stop by there also.
Merv
PS take a picture of Pat at dock. It's rare and might be valuable one day _________________ 2006 CD-22 Kingfisher Sold Jan 08.

Best overnight stops between Nanaimo and Comox are, Schooner Cove, French Creek, Ford Cove, Deep Bay. Hope this helps.

Thanks Pat,
Great blog. Ladysmith has been on our list for a while but we always seem to pass by.
Might give it a try a try this week now that you have warmed up the water.

Blues Skies is tied up at the Nanaimo Yacht Club after a long tow from Saskatoon. Enjoyed the Bathtub Race celebrations this past weekend. Now getting ready for the trip to Comox, probably leaving Friday morning but may leave Thursday depending on weather. Looking forward to the Comox, gathering.
