Just completed having ALL windows
on Lady KC tinted.

We are very happy with the results,
as it should lower the interior heat and UV.

On the three front windows we used.....
3M PR 50 (prestige)
on all sides and back windows we used......
3M NV 25 (night vision)

I will post some pictures of the results on Lady KC

Bill, aren't you afraid a State Trooper will stop you for having tinted FRONT windows? Mr. Green

If you don't mind sharing, how much does something like that cost and how long did it take them?

Also, when you flush those Hondas through hoses, you don't run them that way do you? Is it on a lift when you do it?

Charlie

And up here in the great PNW we have thought about removing the tinted windows on our TC24. Even with the slanted windows on the older tomcats we do not generate much heat in the cabin and would like to have the clarity of non tinted windows.

took the boys 2 1/2 hrs to put tint on the 11 (9) windows.

no....do not have the
Honda engines running when flushing,
but tilted fully up,
laid over on the port side,
so it is easy to get to the engine hose connector.
A static flush.

Steering manufacturer says to never tilt motors straight up as it is to much pressure on the seals......hummmmm
.......do as I am told...lol

One of our favorite additions to our 22 - limo tint all windows except front which are 35%. Love the limo tint - no more sitting in fish bowl.

The question I have is how much does the tint cut down on the night vision? I read the 3 M site about those films--and they seem to be mainly solar reflective.

We put in smoke color lexan on the Cal 46 we restored, and it didn't make all that much difference in the heat, but definately cut down on our night vision from the pilot house.

Here's a bit of advice for window tinters:

My boat came used with tinted side and rear door windows, but also had a crack in one.

I took it out, had one cut and ground to fit, and then tried to match the tint, which was kind of hard to do, mostly due to color differences, and not so much shading degrees.

While the %age of light blocked out in numerically given (if not exact), some tints have more green or yellow in the "smoke' color, etc. Your eyes notice this more than the degree of darkness differences.

What I'd do if I were have my windows tinted, is to get partial roll / remainder to keep for matching later, should replacement be necessary. Store it someplace cool and dry, so it doesn't get stuck together and unusable.

BTW, I love the tinting, makes the interior more private, secluded, etc.

Joe. Teeth Thumbs Up
