Well folks I can't help but yell Razz Yahoo. I just found out that I was the lucky recipient of a $5000.00 draw among the purchasers of Yamaha outboards at the Vancouver boat show. I had put a deposit on a new 25 with Jeff Messmer of C-Dory and Walter of Galleon Marine, our new BC C-Dory dealer and Walter entered my name in the draw for the prize. I just got the call from Yamaha Canada saying I won! Five boat units!!! (some what reduced in US funds) And to think there was a point when I wondered if my choice of Yamaha for the 25 was the right choice. No doubts anymore! We are going to be visiting the factory tomorrow to confirm our choice of the 25 as they didn't have one at the Vancouver show. If all goes as planned Meander 22 will be officially up for sale on Monday.
Cheers
Ron

Ron- Congratulations!!! A just reward for someone willing to bet on a CD-25, sight unseen! Enjoy the 1/2 price motor. You'll love the Yamaha! Joe.

I read the PowerBoat report on the comparison between the Honda 150 and the Yamaha 150. Interesting: They gave the nod to the Honda, because it had slightly better economy and noise-levels (even though both are super-duper quiet!) at the most common speeds (cruising speeds)
I say BahHumbug!! Surprised Stick with the Big Yami. Reason #1: It out-performed the Honda in speed, and 2: it has a larger prop! (probably also a larger more commercial-duty gearcase as well!) That will translate into; better performance in rough-water (which also might mean better economy in rough water) #3: That Yami is a true purpose-built marine engine (Yamaha claims it is the first of its kind (150-class 4-stroke Thumbs Up ) #4: Simpler engineering. It does not employ a lot of gagetry in it's design to achieve it economy and performance Thumbs Up Take that Honda... Moon hehehe Wink Xmas Naughty Xmas Tongue
Now: if we could just get the manufacturer to not recommend a certain brand and open-up to other companies... I'll be happy ... Wink

(if ya don't like this content...don't read it Xmas Naughty Xmas Tongue )

I'm ottah here for weekend folks... poof** Bat Congrats!! Thumbs Up

Ron - congrats on the good luck! Being Irish, if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all myself! Just kidding, I'm getting a new CD25, aren't I, so I am pretty durn lucky!

We were just at the factory yesterday, and you will see a green 25 nearly complete, maybe 3-4 days from shipping, for Jim and Laurie Martinson (Laurna Jo). You ought to be able to climb on this one and get the feel - it is a LOT like a CD22 inside but with more elbow room and more creature comfort amenities. The cockpit is distinctly different, but can't say better or worse. You will see TJ Mullen's cabernet 25 which is ready to have the windows and cabinets and stuff installed. You will see David and Kate's cabernet 25 Anna Leigh, which as of yesterday was ready to have the cabin put on the hull. You will finally see the 25 mold, which has the outer layer of fiberglass (cabernet), and is about ready to start on the balsa core - ours, the new Daydream!

The journey begins! See you and your new boat in Desolation Sound in September, if not sooner!

$5000 in savings should pay for a really nice electronics package.
