Yes, indeed! She does float!

OK, maiden voyage of Daydream the CD25. Launched at Coulon Park (Renton) on Lake Washington. Next one hour the slow dance, 15 minutes at troll, next 45 minutes 2000 - 3000 RPM. I kept thinking our friend Norm's Albin 30 runs about 8 knots, to Desolation Sound and beyond. That would take more patience than I have! This pretty much got us to the Montlake Cut, out to Lake Union, where we tied up at Ivar's Salmon House for lunch (deja vu all over again!). Back out, now we can run for an hour at 4000 - 5000 RPM. Up to Sand Point (the old Naval Air Station), over to Kirkland on the Eastside, and then back down to Coulon Park. I think about 3 hours total running time, 34.3 miles.

First impressions:
It's very familiar, a LOT like the CD22 Daydream.
Speeds are going to be very similar, sweet spots on Honda 150 at 3500 and 4500 RPM, we are going to be running under 20 mph most of the time.
Handles a chop considerably better than the CD22 - we had 1 foot chop on Lake Washington, a lot of confused wakes, etc., running 18 - 20 mph, NO pounding. BIG trim tabs really get the nose down easily and she just plows through it.
Ride is just more stable than the CD22, people can move around and not upset things.
Additional cabin volume is very noticeable, we appreciated the extra elbow room.

I think we are going to like this boat! Oscar obviously likes it too!

Thanks for the update. Sure glad she passed muster on her maiden voyage. Oscar sure looks happy with the decision to move to a larger boat! See you guys soon. Get well, Patty.

Hey, you two, congratulations. I like the personalized greeter card, and the award winning photo of your first cockpit libation. Boat ain't bad, either.

Missed you by a day at Coulon. Lake Washington was fabulous all day Saturday.

What a great looking boat!

I have been on dry land for the last year and a half and have about the same time to wait before I get my first C-Dory.

Congratulations to all of you - especially Oscar. Maybe we'll meet up some day and he can meet our little dude, Bamse!

Thanks, Paul, I wish I could take credit for it being a great looking boat, but that kudo of course goes to the guys in Auburn. It will be even better looking after we get the C-80 integrated system mounted and the camperback installed, both in mid-July. Maybe we'll run into you out in the Gulf Islands, Princess Louisa or Desolation Sound one of these days! Those great Canadian cruising waters are beckoning, we launch out of Blaine or Bellingham and they are just a short hop away! And Oscar loves meeting new friends!

Congratulations Pat & Patty,
We're glad to see that Daydream is finally home. We look forward to boating with you and your new 25 for many years. Hope to see you out there on Memorial Day weekend.
