Rich and Betty arrived yesterday to see their new boat and to go over a few things. Based on time we decided to launch this morning and spend some time on the water.

We had a great sea trial and with the wind blowing pretty well in our area we had some good seas to play in (at least Rich and I thought so! Smile ).

Last seen they were headed out of Cornet Bay for La Conner.

Congrats and fair voyages to Rich and Betty aboard the Betty Ann.

Exciting! Wishing the new owners great times on the water with their new boat... and their place in the history of the new line.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Ditto. Any idea if this great looking boat will have a name? As the first Marinaut the pressure is on!

Congratulations to the new owners. The boat looks great in the water, pictures taken sitting on a trailer do not do it justice.

Rich and Betty – thank you for your confidence in Les and me. Les did a great job in finishing the boat and it looks impressive on the water.
I hope you have an exciting time in the Northwest and our corner of the country is as exciting to you as the Marinaut is.

Good Luck and start a thread about your travels in the NW.

We want to thank everyone for your best wishes. Indeed, we feel very fortunate and honored to be the first to own this wonderful boat, the Marinaut 215 that was designed and constructed by excellent craftsman. Our confidence in all of you was well-founded, and you lived up to the high reputation you garnered within the C-Brats community.

We feel that C-Brats members are sophisticated in that we all want seaworthy, quality-made boats. We had to go to the West Coast, because there are no, new boats available on the East Coast that meets our criteria for quality, seaworthiness, price, space utilization and fuel efficiency. That's zero opportunities! On the East Coast, most people are either into foofy power boats -- the kind with blenders and foot massagers, or they are into deep-V fishing boats, neither of which are satisfying. So the several trips we made to the West Coast were well worth the effort.

The Marinaut met our criteria in every respect, and we are very well pleased.

We also want to take this opportunity to say that after our shakedown cruise, we fully realized how important this C-Brats site is, and what a wonderful group of people are in this group. We had the opportunity to meet some really nice people on this trip such as Charlie and Mellelee of the Cape Dory 23 "My Lee", and Jerry and Cindy of the CD 22 Crusier "C-Gnome." We very much enjoyed their company, sharing ideas, and touring their beautiful boats.

Thanks again,

Betty and Rich
"Betty Ann"

Betty and Rich, how about a full report on your shake-down cruise, where you finally decided to go in the time you had available here! And pictures please! Great looking boat, congrats!

Great boat Betty and Rich, looks like you're having a ball! In your last post did you really mean "Cape Dory 23" or Venture 23. They are different boats, the first is a sailboat, at least Cape Dory is, not sure if they make a 23 or not.

He probably meant Cape Cruise 23 (now the Venture series boat).

A very nice looking boat indeed, are those inside cabin hand rails ( handholds ) bolted through the cabin roof and secured to the handholds ( rails ) on the roof.Tug
