So, Friday afternoon bound for Lake Powell, the Titan broke down just west of Cle Elum. Boat got towed to Cle Elum, Titan got towed to Yakima to Nissan dealer. Dealer can't look at it until Tuesday. Friday night in boat at Eagle Valley RV park in Cle Elum, last night and next three nights in Yakama Nation RV Park in Toppenish...thanks to Jim Martinson for playing musical boats! Did winery tours today. Got lemons so making lemonade. Powell is out, Lake Roosevelt is probably IN! Actually boaterhoming in Yakima is a LOT more pleasant than the long drive to Powell anyway I guess...$64K question is how long it will take the dealer to get us back on the road, my guess is a computer control module, service writer thought probably an alternator. I hope she is right and I am wrong! _________________

Bummer. The "town" of Hunter on the Columbia is a very nice park and launch point. About a half hour drive north of where the Spokane River joins the Columbia. For about 5 years Jim Browning and 4 of us started there for our guys week on Lake Roosevelt. I remember very little after getting there other than we had a great time. Sorry to hear about the truck. Not sure about gin and lemonade. Vodka and lemonade maybe. _________________ David and Kate

We'll be launching at Gifford, friends live right across the street from the Gifford launch. David, it is Vance and Vicki (Pedersen) Gervais, very hospitable when we launched there with B&E in 2004.
Actually we have been having a great time at this RV park! Hope they can get us on the road quickly though. We'll be at the dealership early tomorrow morning!

OK, so now it's Tuesday, we will go into Yakima to the Nissan dealer and find out what their plan is! We are good here at Yakama Nation RV Park for another two days, hope we can get out of here though! Yesterday went to the Wapato Harvest Festival (whoopee) and a couple of dips in the now kidless swimming pool (really, whoopee!!!!) Hope they don't tell me the part is in Seattle and it will be another three days! |

Pat, if that part is in Seattle, I might be able to help I may be headed east in a few days, could pick it up, if you get tired of hanging out in the east slope fruitlands
Sorry you are missing the Lake Powell trip. Hope Roosevelt works for you.
Harvey

Hey Pat, I was actually headed for Sacatomato on my way to ........... oh, when did you want that there
You seem to be taking it all in good stride. Might as well, it's sure better for the blood pressure. At least you are able to get some boat time in on the wait.
Hoping for a quick fix.
Harvey

We got Laurna Jo and Daydream launched on Rimrock Lake Wednesday, doing the leapfrog boat thingee, first moved Laurna Jo from the RV park to the lake, back to Yakima to the RV park to move Daydream. It is absolutely gorgeous here, will post a couple of pix later, they are all on my iPhone (see them now on Pat Anderson's Facebook page!). Yesterday, for Patty and me a bit of fishing, no catching, casting off the bow, a long kayak paddle and a swim, trolling for Jim and Laurie, also no luck. Today we are going to try trolling as well and explore the lake a bit. We are tucked up behind the peninsula at the east end of the lake. It has been as calm as glass here except for the bit of wind that was blowing while we were launching! So Powell and Roosevelt will have to wait, the parts for the truck should be arriving at the Nissan dealer today and the truck should be ready on Monday. No excited about seeing the bill for it though... |

I forgot to mention, swimming in Rimrock Lake is like swimming in a pool filled with ice cubes! But you do "get used to it" (sort of)! |
