Are you planning a cruise or fishing trip and don't really want to go it alone? This thread is a good place to post your intentions and see if someone else on the board would like to be your wingman. (A wingman is your buddy in another boat, he has your back in case there is problems.) Sometimes it's just more fun to share the expedition with other folks. |

My wife Helen and I plan on taking several weeks vacation on Puget Sound next spring/summer. We don't have any specific weeks picked out and I've never cruised the Sound except for the cruise from Sequim to Mystery Bay in the fog.
So, how soon in the year does the boating season start up there? Anybody have some cruises planned that wouldn't mind some company in another C-Dory?

You are riding with me on the tuna run, Mike. We'll have at least one wingman with us. He'll be in another boat and will know where the heck we're going cause he's been there before many times.
In this case I don't know Puget Sound. I want to run with someone who does. It's the best way I've found to get to know new waters. Run with someone who knows the hazards. Right? Well, at least until I get enough confidence to run on my own.
In another instance, a wingman could just be a running mate in another boat. Like if I was going to make a run up the Columbia to St. Helens to spend the night or weekend. I could post here and see if anyone else wants to make the run too. Heck, it sounded like a good idea to me.

The wingnut idea sounds like a winner, it may be a busy year and a busy summer for us though. May not be able to get out cruising much but no matter what, we'll not miss the B 10 salmon frenzy or the spring sturgy sprint. _________________ Ken
