According to the Wikipedia article on silver carp (AKA "Asian carp"):

"The silver carp is also called the flying carp for its tendency to leap from the water when startled."

If only salmon behaved like this...

As funny as that is (and those guys think it is) I imagine that river is more/less ruined for any sort of real fishing? Those are the fish the great lakes are trying like mad to keep out since they eat everything in site, leaving nothing but "lazy fishing"

Maybe the towns along the river could have fishing rodeos like they have rattlesnake roundups in Alabama. It could slow the growth of the population.
They may taste like chicken like rattlesnakes.

There has to be a market, Crab bait, Hog feed, alligator feed or bait, cat food, Pond clean up, fish as food for Zoo's, even the fish rodeo, --- something. They sure don't want to let them into the Great Lakes.
