Wow, what a neat boat. They even have a model with a fly bridge!

Don't think I'd better mention this to Sally though! Methinks if I had an extra $850K or so, I'd have to have one...

I have been watching the Maine Cat since it was in the planing stage. They did it right. First they built a prototype hull, and ballested it to the weight of a finished boat. There was a small plywood pilothouse. Those hulls were evntually sold and finished out. There were a number of changes before the molds were finalized--including increasing the length.
By doing this the builder (already well established in sailing cats) as able to optamize the boat, ride, tunnel height etc.
The Maine Cat is probably the best cat in its size (there are a number of other very good cats from 33 on up to the 65 foot size). There is a 65 footer which is an up grade from the Tennant New Yorker--and Wildwind IV which is being finished in Pensacola. One boat builder has done over 95% of the work on this boat. Waiting for electronics and some finishing touches before launch. _________________ Bob Austin
