WOW!!! Shocked Have you guys check out the honda jetdrives? They look very nice and the drives look very proportional to the upper portions. Would anybody here with the 19'/22' consider buying the 105 hp just to get the advantages from it's 150 vtec powerhead?
I think that would be valid, don't you? Now you can get some steelhead upstream...

ahhhh 'drooling'...

D5800#^%$@,

Don't feel bad about getting shot down for thinking jets. I was wondering what a new Tom Cat set up with a pair of 175hp Mercury Sportjets , which weigh in at 305# engine and pump, would be like. Was told they might be kind of loud and not very fuel efficient. Don't care cause I may still dream and by the time reality hits the jets may get better.

Tim

Dream all you want. Dreaming is good. Just don't bring that noisy thing on my river! I like to be able to hear the CG copter coming.

That's interesting. I didn't realize jet pumps cost that much efficiency. You mean them 50 mph ThunderJets would go faster if they ran props? (Faster ThunderJets is another thing we don't need on our river.)

check this out http://www.jetpac.us/ interesting concept, sure would be tough on the stern when trailering. A few other negatives for jets, they don't much care for seaweed or other debris, and for towing, they don't get as good of a hole shot. I like the idea of having props in the water when things get rough.

Doesn't that fancy CR bar pilot boat run jets?
