Cruising on the C-Dog site the message thread on "Do I Need Radar", message # 18, one of our owner gives response from Raymarine in reguards to individuals on OUR BOATS WITH RADAR who may have pacemakers....

Interesting info from Raymarine to one of our owners on Radar and Pacemakers.. See message thread "Do I Need Radar", message # 18. Any of our owners have both pacemaker and radar?? Would be interesting to compare what the Doc's say with what Raymaine says... Feedback??

While I don't have a pacemaker, I've noticed that whilst boating, if I'm in a situation where radar is needed, my heart beats noticably faster

I don't have a pacemaker either but I think my radar made my hair fall out. Smile

Actually, I haven't really lost any hair....it's all in a box on the bureau... :angel

I do think it may be a problem however, found this on the 'net

http://junkbrosnews.com/EvenMoreNews/radar.htm

Also found this, discharge instructions from a hospital that clearly say to stay away from radar. I'm always a little skeptical of these warnings (like cell phones can damage your brain, etc, etc) but in this case, you're fooling with something that's keeping your ticker running right. If you didn't need help in the first place, you wouldn't have one. I'd ask my cardiologist if I had any fears.

Gee Charlie,

We used to stand in front of the big guy just to get radiated before going ashore. Now you tell me! :angel

Ken, most of us "ol salts" glow in the dark. Luckily, we had kids that were'nt too weird (Dusty really lucked out with Les) before the inevitible happened. Disgust The inevitible being our wives got a headache.

Many of the big Navy radars (AEGIS being a prime example) can fry lots of electronics at well over 1000 yards. Smile Fortunately, none of us have figured out how to put an AEGIS fixed array on a CD yet. Les will probably be the first and will fry all the food at the nearest McDonalds.... Wink

I was planning on installing a small shelf in front of the dome on the new 25 . Put the food on it and microwave it.
