We'll be leaving Bellingham sometime Saturday. Will show up sooner or later but hopefully won't miss the ceremonies. Will bring some dessert for the potluck. At least that's the plan tonight. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting the new C-Dory members, too.

OK, we will be arriving sometime around 10:00 am Saturday, and crusiing with the new owners! So we are looking forward to the day cruise and potluck on Saturday and the denaming / renaming ceremony Sunday a.m. We and Martinsons have a motel, Anaco Bay Inn (our first choice, Campbell Lake Resort, was full).
A stupid question perhaps, has anybody told Dundee Woods at the Cornet Bay Marina that a bunch of boats are coming? Is the potluck at the marina or the state park? Dundee has a mean little way of keeping the campfire going and loves company, as I recall... _________________

Well. what a fabulous weekend! Two de-namings (Anna Leigh and Daydream) and three christenings (Spirit, boat-y-sattva and Susan E). Day cruise from Cornet Bay to West Sound, lunch at the fantastic Kingfisher Inn (featuring Snoqualmie Coppperhead on tap no less!), and a wonderful if chilly potluck on the float at Cornet Bay State Park! Participating were Anna Leigh/Spirit, Daydream/boat-y-sattva, Susan E, Anita Marie, Liberty Call, Luna-C, R-Matey, C-Sick and sans boat Jim and Laurie of Laurna Jo. Deception Pass was a pussycat, but a bit of fog on the way home - all boats back in safe and sound!

We had a great time! Cold & foggy but as usual lots of good food and companionship along with the Rev. Jim officiating at the christenings for the Susan E & boat-y-sattva. A special thanks to Fred and Robbin for leading us through the fog to LaConner More than a couple of times we could not see them at all! After we left them at Twin Bridges we had some interesting moments but started getting more visibility north of Hat Island. Absolutely beautiful skies and water almost as smooth as Jello on the approach to Bellingham. What a wonderful weekend.

Great time, Luna C, Liberty Call, CSick, Susan E, Anna Leigh, Daydream and Anita Marie. Good dinner with Chris and Janet Friday night in Anacortes.
Nice cruise to Westsound for lunch with the denaming christening at the dock. The group broke up after lunch going there own ways. Hooked up with CSick on our way back thru Deception in the fog, notch another first.
The potluck was great with the CBrats usual spreed.
Left early Sunday morning and had a interesting cruise to Twin Bridges with Joe and Ruth in some pretty thick fog. Hey Joe that was a pretty big tug, huh.

Dave and I want to echo the words of those who have already commented on what a great weekend Cornet Bay was. Wonderful to meet Marty & Cas the new owners of the former Day Dream and Tom & Susan on the totally out fitted Susan E. Got to share cheeze cake with Joe & Ruth, a huge thanks to Fred and Robbin for getting us across Rosario and through deception in the fog. Waiting to hear our Doug and John made it back. Thanks to Pat & Patty for the chili and beer - kept the cabin heated.
Dave and I waited until 9:30 or so and peeked outside Deception and turned back because of the fog. We ended up going the South to North route through La Connor - watching out for Marty & Cas. Cooked up some steaks in La Connor and enjoyed the sun before completing the loop. The fog was five minutes behind us going through deception around 4:00.
A million thanks for all. _________________ C-Sick

Apologies to Kas one of the new owners of the former Day Dream for the miss spelling your name. It won't be long and your boat will no longer be know as the former.
I am looking out my window wondering where the sun shine went - we must be enlighted because the all knowing knows we need some fresh water on our C- Dorys. |

What a great start to the 2005 C-Brat season for us. Always nice to see friends, on the boats or around the table. As usual we could not have lucked into better weather for the end of Feb. When John and I left Cornet Bay we decided to take a shot at going home down the west side of Widbey Is vs the more protected east side passage. Had to slow a little for the fog but were still able to make to Port Townsend in an hour and 15 minutes. After a wonderful brunch in PT we fought the fog off and on all the way to Brownsville; arrived at 2:45. Not bad timing to go by boat vs trailor and a whole lot more fun. Looking forward to Jarrel Cove.
Take care all, we'll see you soon.

To Fred & Robbin, our heroes Joe says that he's really glad you were out in front. I didn't see the tug until he pointed it out to me. Then it was like, WOW! Where'd it come from |

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. It was great to have such a nice bunch to introduce us to the c-dory way of life. And Fred, I asked around..pj's ARE ok on c-dory folks. so I expect to see your evening wear next time we meet!
thanks to C-sick for keeping an eye on us when we went out for our first spin ALONE. maps, maps, blue sections and white - "are those little numbers feet or meters or fathoms?" good thing we kept the radio on #68.
Thanks to everyone
we will see you soon
just as soon as the boys down at the shop get the wiring fixed for boaty. |
