Not exactly a great camping day either - it is fricky-dicky SNOWING in Fall City today!

A bad boating day today. Twenty-three to thirty-two knot winds off Blake Island.

Well because of work we can not make it until saturday morning so we will have to trailer down. What is a safe launch to leave the truck at in the area. I really dont know the south end at all. I dont have to launch right at the park but with in 10 miles or so would be great.

Check page two of this post, Robbi on C- Run has several other options listed. I may try Zittlel's Friday evening.

Bambina thinks maybe she'd like to stay comfortably encapsulated in rain-proof protection this weekend.

Her captain may have to arrive without her this weekend.

I launch at a private launch site that is not open to the public. It is where I store my boat. If you need any other information on launching, let me know. Robbi

Robbi,

It turns out I'm teaching a class Friday evening from 6-9 pm. I'll launch from Steilacoom Saturday morning about 9:00am and head straight to Jarrell Cove. I'll bring some wood and something for the pot luck. Let me know if you want me to bring anything else. You can call my cell phone (253.228.9205) Saturday morning before I launch if you think of any last minute item I need to bring.

I'm taking the boat. The big green and white one that routinely ingests and disgorges cars and people. Seattle to Bremerton Saturday morning, then a scamper down Highway 3. See you there.

It was a great weekend. A little sun, a little rain (like buckets last night) a little wind last night and today. Small craft warnings this am so the three C-Dorys left at about 7:30am. Sorry we didn't run up and wake the campers up. It was so calm in the cove that we thought we better make a run for it. Luna-C headed down Pickering Passage, Mar-T and C-Run went out into Case Inlet. 25 mph+ winds, windwaves about 2-3 feet. Some a bit larger. Shocked When the two 19's got to Devils head, we talked with Luna-C, they had just arrived at their launch site at Johnson Point. We surfed downwind to Eagle Island and parted ways in the lee of Anderson Island. C-Run is home, washed down and sitting in the driveway. Mar-T I would guess is right now through Colvos passage and is somewhere between Blake Island and home. I was very glad to have the company of Mike and his son on this trip. I was sorry to leave them, but that C-Dory looked like it was right at home in those conditions. We saw two other boats in those 24 miles. A ferry and a tug. You just can't keep a C-Dory at the dock! Smile

Thanks to all who made this weekend a great time. Last nights potluck was excellent, and the firewood you all brought made for a warm center piece for the gathering of friends.

Bob Miles, thanks for coming out Sat and bringing the firewood. We put it to good use! It was nice for all to meet you and we look forward to you being at some future gatherings. I hope your crab pots were stuffed with crabs.

We were sorry to miss the breakfast in Allen. I hope you understand our speedy departure.

Pat had his trusty camera, so I am sure pictures will follow. Thanks again to all. Robbi

This was a fun weekend despite the rain! Only three boats.

Chris and Janet on Luna-C, Robbi on C-Run (damn! I am sorry! I forgot your fish whacker!), and Mike Sr and Mike Jr on Mar-T. As Robbi pointed out, this is probably the first gathering where CD19s were the majority...

Without boats, Fred and Robbin (future Anita Marie), Jim and Laurie (future Laurna Jo) and Pat, Patty, Austin and Oscar (future Daydream). What category for Brock (Bambina)? He's got a boat but chose not to bring it...I guess "prudent mariner"...

Buckets of rain! More than Swantown two years ago! But the fire in the picnic shelter BBQ, the abundance of good food and beverages, and the indefatigable camaraderie of this group overcame the weather! Sorry for those who had to boogie early Sunday a.m., the Youngs, Anderson and Martinsons enjoyed a solid breakfast at Lennard K's in beautiful downtown Allyn, where the service is slow but the help is surly...And Robbin got a tasteful gift at Kenny's Northwest Experience - how could you NOT buy that beer can wind chime?
