NEWS FLASH.....
We now have the picnic shelter at the top of the boat ramp reserved for our Sat. night potluck. I don't think any other group will be there, but I didn't want to take the chance on not having the covered picnic tables, the new BBQs, and fire ring for our exclusive use.
My firewood source dried up, so why don't we all bring along a couple of those packaged fire logs for our fire. They burn nice and warm, and will add to the atmosphere to make Catman's entertainment unforgettable. (Do you have your program finalized yet?) Just kidding.
My husband will be driving down on Sat. for the potluck, and I will have him bring a number of the fire logs, and I hope he cooks up a nice dish!
I am getting excited about our get together. I see some more folks have signed up. That's great. Anyone else want to make this gig? There will be and maybe a !

Nice job, Robbi. We appreciate the tender, loving, lair you've made for salty, enterprising Brats. That site's close and comfortable, and will make the evening potluck another to remember. I mean, if there's food.
Hey Sea Wolf, thanks for the good wishes.

Has anyone firmed up cruise plans as of yet? If the weather is anything like the lasts few weeks, I may go out on Thursday. I could even go to Blake on Thurs night if any others cruising down from the north are planning a stop there. Any ideas? Robbi |

For those of you that are planning to stop at Blake Island on Thursday nite plan on having one more C-Brat tied to the dock. I will be leaving Port Orchard Thursday afternoon.
Hope to see a few folks on the tiny little island in the middle of everything. |

Mike & Marty,
Glad you like the idea of a pre-function. I suggest that anyone doing the Blake Island pit-stop try to bring some firewood along. They have a great covered fire ring and any fodder we don't burn there would be welcome to the masses when we get to Jerral Cove. Golly Jeez Boatman, I can taste the steaks and mushrooms now!!

I just read in the paper this am that recreational crabbing has been extended in marine area 13 (south of the Narrows Bridge). It did not mention a cut off date, so if you plan on bringing a crab pot to Jarrell Cove, better check the hotline before you leave. 360.796.3215.
I know crabbing a few weeks ago was good at the mouth of Wollochet Bay (90-120 feet of water) and lots of red rock crab in the Chambers Bay area.
Anyone down this way know of other spots? Nisqually, Devil's Head????

Gather up that fire wood! The one thing that the different weather forecasts agree on for the coming weekend is cold at night. The "partly cloudy" "chance of showers" means "chance of sun" in my book. It also looks like the winds will be lite. So, think . I am not sure about my thurs night plans yet, but may very well go to Blake if others are planning on that stop. Looks like fri will be a nice day for a group cruise to Jarrell Cove. We can pick up Brave Heart at Gig Harbor, and Maria Consuelo at Steilacoom. (unless they come to Blake) Robbi |

Ok , Looks like we will be Boatless as our new 25 won't quite be ready for this outing... However we are gonna be borrowing Laurie's brother's camper trailer, and won't be there til Saturday afternoon... So could maybe someone kinda hold us a place to park near the picnic shelter? We have State parks permit already too. _________________ Commodore Jim & Adm. Laurie

I don't think that will be a problem (getting you a spot nearest the picnic shelter) see you Sat. Robbi |

Robbi, It looks like we'll be launching Brave Heart at Joemma Beach State Park on Friday. (there is no overnight parking at the Gig Harbor ramp).
If the timing is right we could meet up with you guys going through the Case Inlet. _________________ Bill & Evelyn Macdonald

About what time do you expect to be in the water at Joemma? Your trip is only about 9 miles, so if we don't see you on the water, we will see you on the dock. Robbi |

We start each day with the best of intentions for an early start but then, important things happen, like another cup of coffee etc. My guess is it will be close to noon when we leave Joemma. By the time you guys get down from Blake Island, we could be pretty darned close. |

All,
Due to unforeseen circumstances Liberty Call will be unable to make the Jerral Cove gathering (nor the Blake Island pre-function). We certainly regret missing this run, seeing everyone, and partaking in the great food, drink, boat adventures, and the spirit(s) of the weekend on the water with friends. Looking forward to seeing the pictures and the next opportunity to be with everyone to see all the new vessels.
Have fun and be safe,
Doug |

Doug, You will be missed!!! Sorry that we will not see you.
It looks like today's weather will pass and tomorrow and Fri look quite nice. Little if no wind Thurs and Fri. Sat the chance of showers goes up, but drops back down Sun. Glad to see the night time temps rise from earlier predictions.
For those who are driving down I want to let you know of a new bakery deli that is just off of hiway 3 after you make the turn onto Pickering Rd. This is the road out to Hartstene Island. It is about 1/4 mile from the turnoff, and on your right. It is called Olympic Bakery and Deli. It is very good.
Besides Mike and Marty, who else plans on being at Blake Thurs night?
I am off to check on firewood. Robbi |

A bad boating day today. Twenty-three to thirty-two knot winds off Blake Island. |
