I have not been able to get my 16.5 # Claw anchor to self launch from my BRM-4 anchor roller. I know that you should use the Delta # 14 or the 22 # Claw type anchor for the BRM-4 in order for it to self launch but i do not know which one to buy.Is the 22 # Claw over kill... and... the 14 # Delta doesn't seem to me that it would grab ( set ) in a hard rocky bottom. Need any suggestions on which one to buy. Thanks Tug |

my delta works great. I dragged it a few times the first year but after adding the chain, 22 ft, it works great. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

I dont have this item but have a couple of question.
Is the wheel adjustable in a slot and does wheel rotate on axis? _________________ Brent Barrett |

I will buy the 14# Delta to replace the existing 16.5# Claw anchor to try with my BRM-4 bow roller. I will order it this weekend..hope it will self-launch. Tug |

..You can checkout www.kingstonanchors.com...they have a list though some bow rollers are not mentioned on their site. You can also do a search on Google of the type of anchor you want and it will usually tell you what bow roller is recommended for that type of anchor. I am finding out it is still mostly trial and error unless you go by what others have tried and proven to work well on similar boats. The Lewmar Pivoting bow roller is highly recommended by many on this site..i might end up getting one if the Delta 14# anchor fails to launch on my BRM-4 bow roller.Tug |

Want across to the States today and picked up my 14# Delta anchor. I tried it while still on the trailer by just releasing the tension on the chain and it looks like it will self launch. Will know better tomorrow when i take it for a test run. The BRM-4 bow roller captive pin does not line up with the hole on the anchor. Question is do i need to redrill another hole to accommodate the captive pin...right now the anchor sits tight and snug and with a dungee cord it's quite secure. Tug |

Tug, be interested if your BRM-4 does indeed self launch your Delta. I have a 22# and need a new roller--says on the website that it will work for both our anchors.

This is the roller we use . No question about its self launching abilities with many anchors . Kingston makes it for Lewmar as well . Its a no brainer .

Marc rigged my boat with the roller he describes and I don't have any problem with it self launching my claw anchor. _________________ marvin |

Yup, it's the same one/design many of us have been recommending all along.
Seen it called a Lewmar, a Windline, and several other labels, but it always looks like this (with white or black rollers):
If it walks like a duck, flies like a duck, squawks like a duck, etc., etc....

Went out fishing today and tried my 14 # Delta anchor on my BRM-4 bow roller today. Stopped the boat..nose to the Wind and.... ( did a small drum roll )...hit the down button and the Delta slide/rolled off the roller smooth as silk and into the deep. Retrieving the anchor was just as easy..no problems...rode/chain disappeared into the anchor locker and the Delta locked in place.....was i happy..didn't want to buy/try another anchor.Tug |
