Hello to all...

I want to replace the stock wheel for one with an integrated "maneuvering knob".

I know there are several stainless steel wheels out there with knobs, but I think that holding on to a stainless steel wheel will get uncomfortable after a while, and maybe slippery when the hands get sweaty, like when I find myself in 8 ft seas. (where I'll bet it won't be just my hands that are wet!)

So I have been looking for foam covered stainless wheels instead. But I have only found one with an integrated knob found here.

But the problem is that this is for a 3/4 in. shaft, but I think I need a wheel for a 5/8 in. shaft.

Is there an adapter for this type of situation?

I put an Edson knob (the one with the Bakelite surface) over the foam on my TC helm wheel and it works just fine. IMHO you don't need to buy a new wheel...

Hello Warren. Thanks for the reply.

There are other reasons I plan to change the wheel.

Still looking for some sort of steering shaft adapter. But no luck finding out yet.

No one has any thoughts on this adapter?

Maybe they don't exist?
