|
|
I noticed yesterday that the light under the ceramic cooktop on my Wallas was staying on dimly even after the stove had cooled. In other words, the light is bright when the stove is operating, but never quite goes off. It dims, but stays on even 24 hours later.
I talked with Mike at Scanmarine. He did not have an explanation; he will check with the techs in Finland.
Any ideas from y'all?
The stove is 3 1/2 years old and functions just fine. It has only been fed Kleen-Heat... _________________ Alok

Sounds like a little electrical "leak" or a ground problem. If in doubt, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

As I recollect that light indicates that the stove is "hot" and is activated by a thermal sensor. Is it possible that sensor has gone bad? _________________ Bob Austin

Bob: The light is bright while the cooktop is hot. About 20 minutes after switching off the stove, it goes dim- so it looks like the heat sensor is doing its job.
Charlie: Mike at Scanmarine, while not sure why the light would stay on, also suggested that it might be a ground problem. That makes two of you.
I will leave it alone since the stove works and the current draw should be negligible. If I fool around with it I might end up following Dave's advice! |
