|

Who said it was easy..lol...to start with i have a Attwood Sahara 1100 automatic bilge pump. I already installed the thru-hole fitting and hose and have the pump 5200 's to the cockpit floor. I installed the panel switch and ...
** ran the black(neg) from the battery to the black wire to the pump
** ran the red(pos) from the battery to the red wire( power..off/on) to the switch
** ran the brown wire from the pump to the brown wire ( Automatic ) to the switch
** ran the brown/white wire from the pump to the brown/white ( manual) to the switch
** on the back of the switch i still have two wires left..one say run it to the neg. of the battery ....already did that.....** the other wire on the back of the switch say connect it to the black wire of the pump...did that already
The pump doesn't run as it is now....and yes i put the correct fuse in.
I think that i may of bought the wrong kind of bilgn pump switch. lol
I think the switch that i have is designed for a pump with a separate float switch.
Is there anyway that i can make the pump work with the switch that i have now or should i bit the bullet and buy the correct 3-way bilgn pump switch.. Thanks Tug |

Tug-
You may need to tell us the manufacturer and model number of the switch, so that we can match up the switch and pump wiring diagrams to your completed installation.
Does that pump have an automatic internal switch? If so, it won't come on unless there's water to float the float and complete the circuit. (Unless it has a wire for manual bypass. You can still use the existing switch, but in a reduced capacity/function way.

Pump is a Attwood Sahara Model # S1100...has a internal float switch and is fully automatic...
Switch is a SeaSense 3-Way Bilge Pump Switch W/10 amp breaker and Led indicator lights...# 50010320
I was just reading some information about the Sahara 1100 Pump ( should read them before you try to put things together ) and it suggests that the switch to buy is:
Attwood No. 7615A auto/off/manual dash mounted control switch
Still i would like to make what i have now work..Thanks Tug |
