Bilge Pump Location

I got bored waiting for Spring so installed my thru-hull fitting for my bilge pump today. Now i have to decide where to put my Sahara 1100 GPH bilge pump. Not too much room on the sides near the transom, was thinking on just moving my gas tanks up 3 inches and installing it behind the gas tanks against the transom.Just glueing the strainer part ( of the bilge pump )to the deck and using a 2x4 as a fence behind the gas tanks to protect the bilge pump..Any thoughts on this... Was checking the holes that i had undercut..from where the kicker bracket bolts were. Last Fall i noticed there was about an inch of damp wood around the bolt holes so i undercut them with a bent nail so they would dry over the winter. All seems ready to epoxy...BUT..there is no way that i can see as to how i will be able to put thickened epoxy in the little hole let alone pack it into the undercut areas. Should i enlarge the bolt hole on the inside of the transom,fill the undercut area and then completely close the hole with thickened epoxy ,then redrill the hole from the outside of the transom. Good or bad idea. Tug
