Hey, Langleyites, a little something to put in your New Year's stocking. (They make those, don't they?)
Langley Harbormaster Rick Brewer contacted me about reserving weekend space for our rendezvous next year. We have some choices, but I'm leaning to June 18-20, as a slight, two point favorite over June 11-13, our '09 choice.
So how do all ya'all feel about Langley on Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 18-20?

Brock,
Hope all is well w/ you.
A return to Langley sounds great. It was definitely an enjoyable get together last year and Tanya really enjoyed the many shops in town and we both liked the fine assortment of restaurants.
I assume the close proximity of available high doses of caffeine (lots of coffee shops) is likely a major positive factor for you!
Has Langley undertaken any of the many improvement plans they have for the marina of the surrounding area yet? Probably too soon and the recent financial crisis might have put the brakes on things even further.
Either way, we are looking forward to it.
Take care,
Dan & Tanya |

Oh boy, I like that get together. The pic in my signature was taken there last year. It's good to hear from Dan and Tanya. I was just thinking about them and wondering how they're doing . Either date works for me. Thanks _________________ MartyP

the weekend of the 11th is good for tides. there are minus tides that weekend so it would be good for a clam dig and feed on the dock _________________ Roger on the "SENSEI"

Brock,
June 11th, 12th, & 13th works for us. We'll be doing the Port Townsend Regatta on the 18th 19th and 20th. (Additionally, Roger says there won't be any clams left if we wait until the 18th... )
Good job in getting on this! _________________ Dave S.

What, clams rather than mussels?
Date - matters not but we like dates with good tides too...

Brock,
What Roger said sounds good, but we'll go with any date that you choose. Really enjoyed the Langley CBGT last year and we're looking forward to the next one in 2010.

Man...how time flies.
I've only made this trip once, but couldn't remember how long ago. Looks like it was back in 2004...and it was one of my more memorable trips. Took our gal Koko along, seen here being the perfect pup in the boat.
I just might have to make this trip again.
I don't recall where I departed from back in '04 - my guess is, it was probably Cornet Bay. If I do it this time, I'll be coming over from Port Angeles...and a launch out of Sequim, is a little farther than I'd like given the limited time I'll likely have.
Any suggestions on where to launch/park to the west? Perhaps Mats-Mats Bay? _________________

Bill,
Last year when we went to Langley we put in at Brownsville Marina (see http://www.portofbrownsville.org/) which is just west of Bainbridge Island (B.I.) between Poulsbo and Silverdale.
We stayed the previous night at Brownsville to insure we would be able to leave when we desired since Brownsville's launch ramp is extremely susceptible to being unusable at low tides. From Brownsville its a real short run going northwards behind B.I. and up the east side of Whidbey to Langley.
Obviously, Kingston is another alternative which would be even closer to Langley.
Take care Bill. Say hello to Dana for us. Hope you guys enjoy the holidays and we will likely see you at the SBS C-Brats gathering if you guys go.
