We had to say good by to our friend of 17 years this morning. She had a heart attack 3 days before Marie's mother died (she had been Marie's mother's dog before she came to live with us 10 years ago). She had been on heart medication and slowly going down hill. This morning she woke me up, I took her outside, and she came bounding back, just like she did 15 years ago. She ate her breakfast, and then came into the kitchen where I had started to prep mine. She had a siezure, and when I listened to her chest, it was obvious that she had another heart attack. I awoke Marie and rushed her to the Vet--but we all decided to say good by.

A lot for Marie to bear, but she has seen a lot of adversity in her life, and will make it through this one too.

Sorry to hear about your loss Bob. Pets become part of your family very fast, and it's hard to say goodbye to a pet that asked nothing more than to be petted, loved, walked and fed.

Sorry for your loss. We lost our 14 year old border collie Anna around the 4th of July. Said we'd never get another dog cause none would ever replace her. We were only part right -- after several months of missing the old gal we saw a fellow playing with his border collie at a park and that started the ball rolling. Went to look at a rescue dog that had been abused and undernourished, and came back with two sweet, lovable pooches -- not a replacement for Anna, but a little help for 2 cuties that needed help. What a lot of work, but every day (now 3 weeks+) we can see them improve and us adapt to the new workload. Things will get better, but you'll never replace the loss. Ron

Bob, I'm not a big believer in the Karma stuff, but something tells me this all was meant to be. Maybe there is some comfort in that for you, I don't know, but I hope so.

sorry to hear about your pal, Bob , dogs just are part of the family and they give us so much joy. Our 17 year old Madison was touch and go for a while this summer. Ok currently but she is getting on.
Tough when they have to pass, lots of good memories I hope of the times she made you laugh

sorry to hear this .. we rescued a older mutt a few years back and eventually had to put him down (failing health) funny the way it goes but that one still sticks with us .. he took up half the couch for a few years and sure was happy to be here ..

As our 12 yr old Yorkie lays on the leg rest of my recliner tonight, it scares me to think about what affect losing her will have on us. You have our deepest sympathies.

Bob and Marie, we are so sorry to hear this. We know how Miss Priss was a family member. This is a lot for you two to have to bear. Once again, our hearts and thoughts go out to you. We know that you provided a good life for her and she certainly enriched yours.

I will hold little Izzy close tonight.
