I need to replace my old one and wanted to go with a little more wattage. I'm looking at the Airmar TM260. Anyone running one of these? |

There is a recent thread on this on thehulltruth (electronics).
Since the OP is in AK, I assume it's not your post. _________________ Chris Murphy

Airmar makes most of the "factory original" transducers. There are some, like the 260 which may have different characteristics and handle more power.
But to give an intelligent answer, one would need to know the brand and model number of the depth sounder/fishfinder, and what the intended use was. Also what transducer is currently used. _________________ Bob Austin

Thataway,
I'm running a Garmin 4208 with an airmar P66. I believe the P66 is only rated for 500 or 600 watts. I tend to lose bottom in deeper water. The reason to go with a 1000 watt transducer. |

I'm running the Airmar p79 In-Hull transducer (600 w) for depth and I keep good bottom lock through about 250' before it will blink. It will find the bottom again and the deepest depths I have crossed have been just shy of 300'.
What type of transducer are you looking for? In-hull, Thru-hull, etc. Are you looking for fish or just depth? _________________ Captain Matt
