We plan to be in the PNW, arriving around May 15th. I'm looking for reasonably priced storage for the trailer for our 25 through the summer. Any Brats have suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
Best wishes,

Jim,
Last summer we parked our truck and trailer in Bellinghams Marina, across the street from the launch ramp. You pay the launch fee, fill out a form at the harbour master and we were good for a month. We could have stayed longer with no trouble. They do take measures for security.
Swantown Marina in Tacoma has somewhat the same deal, as does Everett, though it's not as cheap or straightforward there.

Sure,
This is a good place here in Ballard. Give them a call. This in in North Seattle.

There is a good free launch facility about 1/2 mile away. It is at the end of 14th Ave NW here in Ballard.

It might be worth a call to Twin Bridges Marina to see if they will keep your trailer for a few months. We pay an extra $20 a month for trailer storage, but keep the boat there as well. The storage is outside in a publicly accessible field, but our trailer has been there for 10 years or so and nobody has messed with it yet.
Where in the PNW will you be boating? _________________ My boating blog...http://samlandsman.blogspot.com/ |

Thanks for the responses, folks. Since you asked, Sam, we will be spending the summer at Friday Harbor. One of us decided we should be contributing members of society again, and with gas prices the way they are, it was hard to argue. So, we'll be working again this summer... I'll be driving a whale watch boat out of Friday Harbor and Joan is going to work in the office and do occasional duty as a naturalist/first mate on the boats.
This company assures us that they won't work us the long hours that we put in at the Tetons. Hopefully, there will be more time to play. An easy run to Jones Island or Reid Harbor for overnights. Our commitment is through early September, then we'll probably head north to Desolation Sound until it gets chilly.
The plan is to liveaboard Wild Blue for the summer. We have a seasonal slip secured at Friday Harbor, so we can walk to work. With the liveaboard fee, we also get a parking spot, so we'll have our truck nearby. That just leaves finding a place to put the trailer for about 4 months.
We are excited about this summer; and we plan to be there in time to take in the Friday Harbor get-together. Looking forward to seeing our PNW Brat friends!
Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Hi Jim. That sounds like an excellent adventure. I look forward to keeping up w/ you two through the site and the blog.
Glad to hear that you made it home okay and for the final report on the 5'er jack issue.
Make sure to let me know if you are coming through the Delta or Sacramento on your way to or from. _________________ Sam on C's The Day or maybe Marinauty (Someday)

Hi Sam,
The new landing gear motor solved the problem on the 5th wheel. We spent the last couple days getting it unloaded and cleaned. Tomorrow, we swap out: the boat comes out of storage, the 5th wheel goes in. Pretty sure I'll be spending a couple days getting Wild Blue all spiffied up before she goes in the water. Then, less than a month before we begin our trek north. The trip up will take us through South Dakota, not sure about heading back.
One of these days our paths will cross.
Best wishes,
Jim |

Friday Harbor is a great town and you'll have a fun summer, I'm sure. Lot's of great day and weekend trips in the area when you get some time off. I'll be sure to find Wild Blue when I come through Friday Harbor on my way back from Alaska in early September. |

If you don't mind starting further south down in Port Orchard for instance, we will trade you a whale watching trip for three for a seasons storage. We have space we don't really use and could work it out easily.

Hi Greg,
I appreciate the offer, but we're hoping for something a bit closer:it would be a treat to meet if you find your way to Friday Harbor.
Best wishes,

Maybe you could call Les and Kathy at EQ Marine and see if they could store it in their lot. It is an easy run to Friday Harbor from Cornet Bay. |

Jim,
Sorry I live a little too far south to be of help. If you ever need a place to store a trailer or a place to hide out for a while we have a area you can use.
It has water, power and a RV dump.
If you ever need a place just pm. me. |
