The Eagle has LANDED !!! Well gang, my new retirement/tow vehicle has made it to Alabama and I picked her up last night. Posed a few day-break pictures to FreeByrd photo album (page 7 of albums, page 2 of my photos) and look forward to her use. I love the sweeet feel of that PowerStroke Turbo Diesel motor. Ford has brought the noise level WAY down from my brother's and my nephew's 7.3s.... |

Holy crap, Byrdman! My only question after looking at your pix is where do you plan to install the Kegerator? It should be convenient to both the large screen TV and the snack pantry...

Congrats to you, Pat on Freebyrd. Hearing some of your thoughts on towing the TomCat, esp. since you towed it so far, led me to check out the Ford 250 Super Duty pickup with the Diesel option. I just bought one to be the tow vehicle of a new C-Dory sometime next year.
It is amazing the performance, yet high mileage, that these vehicles demonstrate. It looks from your pics, like you bought an Eddy Bauer Edition or something like that.... top of the line. I kind of like the sound of a diesel, my motorhome has one and I run with the window open around town just to hear the relaxing lull of the engine. Just like an old tugboat, i guess.
Anyway, thanks for putting your info and sharing your experiences with some of us novices!

El and Bill, Ford is running some models at 5 and 7 years at Zero to 2.9%. Even if that did not work out, the Ford pickups with 6.o diesel are amazing performers with the longest life diesel pickup engine on the market. Of course alot of others, including the amazing Nissan Titan are cheaper and pretty good. Thanks for your inspiration, John |
