Hello all;
I am thinking about installing a raw water wash down system on Raven Dancer. I really don't want to drill any holes for the intake water and was thinking about just putting the intake hose over the transom. Not sure if that would work or not.
So I'm looking for some input on what others have done. Pictures would be great.
Thanks for any ideas.
Dave.

That should work fine if your pump is sized large enough. I too wouldn't punch a hole in a hull for raw water.

Dave,

My intake hose lays in the splash well until needed, and then I just hang it over the transom. It works fine.

Been using one of these for two years now, replaced the twist nozzle with plastic squeeze type. Just toss over the side and plug into two prong battery pigtail, works fine for fish cleaning and wash down. Not a ton of pressure but enough to do the job. I’ve never rinsed out after using in salt just role up and place under gunnel.

Another option is a fresh water washdown; that's what we have on Wild Blue. Since we don't fish, we aren't worried about blasting fish guts out of the cockpit, but it sure is nice to rinse off with fresh water after a swim in the (warm) salt water. Ours has a second pump feeding out of the fresh water tank... so you want to watch your usage if you're trying to conserve your fresh water. It also came in very handy until I could replace our fresh water pump on this current trip. And no hole in the hull.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Thank you all for the information and feed back.
Does anyone know where they install the system when it is done at the factory ? (old factory) Raven Dancer is a 22' High Top Cruiser.
I found a system I like that should keep the fish guts blasted off the boat, now to figure out where to put it.
Thanks again.
Dave.

The two boats we have in stock have the pump mounted to the transom between the fuel tanks. The Thru Hull is to the starboard side of the bilge pump.
