David (Anna Leigh),
At the moment only you and I have signed up in the "event signup" board for this cruise.
But, the really neat part of this is that you are the group moderator! Thumbs Up
Therefore, you can plan a fantastic day of cruising for us! CoolSmile

In some previous gigs involving Lake Washington, we've met just northwest of the 520 Bridge. From there it's a 7 knot cruise to the locks. If I go I'll put in at Coulon in Renton and buzz up to meet ya'll.

If the Sound's icky that day we can always play in fresh water.

Moderator, Trip planner? Actually I think Pat will be the trip planner. He and Patti wanted to also go through the Ballard locks and have lunch on "the other side". Also somehow when I was inagurated as moderator I started getting emails of people joining. Now I can't find anything on the site that has this info. Jim and Laurie, Dave S, Me, Pat and Patti (who should be returning today from a long week-end in the So.) Mac on Two Lucky Fish, and Catman on that little blue boat.

All. go to the Event Signups page and sign up there.

Meeeting at the West end of the 520 bridge is a great place to meet. WHAT TIME

Short days. How about 10 a.m.? Also, if it's nasty in the Sound we could lock through and have lunch at Shilshole.

We'll probably trailer down since we're planning to take TwoLuckyFish out of the water next week (last day of Blackmouth season is tomorrow Cry ). Any launch ramp recommendation?

Yep - you're in charge! Well, really, the first guy to post about a cruise and initiate the discussion gets tagged for the Moderator slot. Hey - it was Da Nerd's idea, not mine! Of course, I would have picked you for this one anyhow. Aren't you semi-retired now? It's just symbolic. But it might look good on a resume if you decide to look for a job.

It's good that you brought up the sudden rush of emails, though. I guess we didn't realize that was happening. Maybe in the future we'll put some guidelines in the group description text. It really is better if everyone makes their suggetsions and asks their questions on the forum, so that all will benefit from the discussion.

You all have a good trip now!

Mac,
Last year David (Anna Leigh) and I launched at Magnussen Park (the old Sand Point Naval Station) on Lake Washington. It is a good launch with plenty of parking....(as if that's a problem this time of year!)

And we'll be coming from Poverty Rock (Mercer Island). Yep, we are back from NOLA (New Orleans, LA) - had a great time, including a little swamp tour - not a place I would want to take Daydream though (the swamp, that is - we definitely would love to cruise the Mighty Mississip...

I may venture up that way if the weather is nice...I'm not sure about cruising with DaveS however....don't think I could keep up with him with the twin big Johnsons

That's like trying to catch a speeding bullet. Guess he figures there's a hot, red and yellow thing up ahead.

Hey, yesterday was calm and groovy on Lake Washington. All day. Today's not too bad, either. As your daily lake monitor I watch such things. We'd be darn lucky to roll weather like the first day of December. And Pat, in the interest of full disclosure let me say I don't mean to diminish this trip by suggesting we play all day on the lake or eat at Shilshole. If it's too windy for the littlest guy, I'll just say goodbye. I don't want to try to control the group's desires. I've got all of 2005 to do that.

I don't see the "littlest guy" having any problem doing what we all would do on this day cruise...I hope we can all meet at (what is it, Portage Bay?) on the lake side of the Montlake Cut at 10:00 am or so, regardless of where we may launch. Lunch at Shilshole or Maggie Bluffs, or even Fisherman's Terminal, if we decide not to crash the locks (although I think we need to do that), we are game for it! WE are not the cruise leader after all, Anna Leigh is!

Sounds good. But I thought you or someone else might have mentioned earlier about cruising along Elliott Bay and the Seattle waterfront.

The locks sound fun. Depending on what folks want to do, and whether we could all lock simultaneously, that could be memorable.
