Hey Hey Hey
It is time once again to start thinking about the Seattle Boat Show.
My wifes best friend is a travel agent and so I hasked her to look into a place to stay and also accomodate the gathering .
She has come up with a hotel in Kent that has all the ammenities we are looking for. here is what she emailed to me.
10 or more rooms get the group rate of $69.00 + tax a night.
2 catagories- Studio Suites--1 bed and Sofa Sleeper (sleeps up to 4)
or Townhouse Suites-2 bedrooms with a bed in each room, and a sofa sleeper, 2 bathrooms, fireplace--both categories have a full kitchen as well.
Other amenities: Free parking, daily full breakfast, complimentary hospitality room,
Without 10 rooms, the rate goes to $109.00 - $129.00 per night.
what I need to get right now is some feedback on what you all want to do. we are going to talk about this on Saturday at the Snohomish River cruise. We need a preliminary count of rooms needed to lock up the rooms and hospitality room.
she said that the hosp. room was big enough for about 50 people and if need be they have a larger one.there are also several good restaurants close by for those wanting it.Any one flying in can also ues the airport shuttle to ge to and from the airport.
we checked into closer motels to the boat show ,but then the room rates go up and you have to pay for parking.
I think it is time for a signup page for the Boat show _________________ Roger on the "SENSEI"

You can count me in for one of those rooms, Roger - assuming we hit the magic "10" number.
No problemo setting up a signup sheet and calendar entry, but...what dates? _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

I'm gonna answer my own question...
I vote for the opening weekend - 1/14 - 1/16. My lovely wife will be in Portland for some ice skating spectacular (nationals?) from 1/11-1/15, so having her continue north to hook up with me works out well...
How's that work for everyone? We could get rooms on Friday and Saturday night, with the party on Saturday night? |

Works for me. Past consensus has been that the opening weekend is the best for free stuff and the mood of the people working the displays. I don't have any money left, and I am tired of grouchy people, so the first weekend has my vote all the way around.
This year, Bill, you gotta ride one of them Segways. _________________ TyBoo Mike

The first weekend sounds good to me! Count me in for a studio Friday and Saturday as well as the rest of the show. Joe. _________________ Sea Wolf, C-Brat #31

OK - we got Joe. Let's get to work on Butch!
Roger - Does your wife's friend have any ideas for the convention setting? Maybe we can use the old C-Dory shop. They might have it empty by then.
The Kent location sounds good to me. I get dibs on riding with Catman. He surely won't be late two years in a row, and he can find the free parking close to the show. |

OK folks - it's official.
Signup Sheet is here.
And let's get those hotel reservations in early, eh?
Thanks a bunch for tackling the hotel stuff, Roger - looks like another great deal.
Now...who's going to start roughing up the factory for some free party grub? I nominate you 25 and Tomcat owners - you've spent more than the rest of us, so you have more muscle to flex... |

So what is the calender. Fri night at the hotel and hang out, then Sat at the show, followed by a dinner together that night? Two nights at the notel motel or just Sat night? _________________ David and Kate

Well,
One day on the board and already 5 rooms. we are half way there to the magical number of 10 to get the lower fare.
After our weekend cruise I will get serious about this and set up a contact with our good friend where each of you will be able to call and reserve your rooms. she will have more info, for me to report to you all, by then also.
I will take a trip down there and check out the accomodations and see what we need to do to be able to use the hospitality room.(whether we need a permit for alcohol, food or whatever) |

Wow, you people don't mess around.
Indeed, Tyboo, I'm your taxi to the show. And I have room for two more Kent hotel Brats in my 4-Runner. |

Has anyone contacted The Larkspur Hotel in Renton? I picked up my boat after last year's show, my boat was in the show, and they were gracious enough to extend to me the rate that C-Brats got during the show because I was a member. That was certainly a nice hotel at a great rate. We are hoping to make the trip over to the show. Does C-Dory give tickets to C-Brat members or was last years offer only because I was buying a boat?

Yes we contacted the Larkspur and they were interested. but they wanted 10.00$ more per room and also 100.00$ for the hospitality room. they were the first place we called.
As far as tickets to the show, I guess we will see what transpires between now and the show |

Of Course you can count on tickets for the show. We would also like to host the Saturday night party. If you would like we could work on the specifics keeping in mind that lodging will be in the Kent area.

Ok Roger and Lisbeth!!! Way to go on the Room setup... count us in for a room too!
We also vote for the first weekend of the show.
Jeff , Thanks for stepping up with the tickets, and hosting the Saturday night Gig. Let's make sure that all the new C-Dory owners you sign up are invited too.
