Hi All,

Since my retirement I have had time to do a little work on Osprey.
My bride and I didn't care for the factory berth cushions so they have been removed to the garage and are now for sale, cheap(any takers?).
Initially they were replaced with one 3" layer of non memory foam. That proved to be just not quite enough padding so another layer of 2" foam was added. In this prcess I discovered an awesome product for gluing together pieces of foam or foam and cloth, leather, etc;. It is made by 3M and is called FoamFast 74. It sprays out of the can on to both surfaces in an interesting pattern and is let dry for a few minutes. When joined together the foam will never come apart again. I got lucky and picked up a blue sunbrella remnant for 99 cents to cover the edge of the foam mattress, also with the FoamFast. SLICK STUFF!

As other Brats have done we wanted to have the stern of the berth all the way straight across the opening. This allowed for a storage cubby where the porta-potty had been.

I installed a matching teak trim strip to hold the porta-potty in it's new location, and another on the edge of the bed. I also fabbed up a teak paper towel holder which is mounted with GE 5200 over the Wallace (Thanks much, to the Brats that shared that product on the forum, it seems totally unmoveable).

The 1 board ft. piece of teak cost me $45 (3/4" x 5 1/2" x 24")but I'm glad I spent the money, it matches the rest of the trim perfectly.

Finished it all off with a piece of indoor outdoor carpet on the floor of the cabin.

Looks good! I think the bed extension is the best thing we've done for sleeping comfort. Well, the memory foam was great, too.

I maybe should have explained a bit more about the storage cubby. It s forward of the Porta-potty and has a plywood hatch cover with a hole in it for removal. With the GE 5200 this was made water tight on the sides. See the pic "Berth Storage Cubby".

The mattress has to be lifted for access to the cubby and while a bit of a pain can be done fairly quickly. Our intentions are to put rarely used but nice to have along items in the cubby.

I looked @ your album and I'm all over that idea. Thanks very much for it.
I don't think I have enough left over without gluing some together. Where do you get your teak?
