Just out of curiosity, how many of you drain the gas from your carburetors before laying up for the winter? Although I generally run stabilized gas, I have, the last couple of falls, drained my carburetors anyway. Now, a couple of folks have advised that this may dry out seals, gaskets, and such, and that I should just leave the carburetors full of stabilized gas for the winter. What do youse guys think?

We don't "lay up for the winter" but as we get into this time of year where time between outings gets farther apart I usually just pull the fuel line off and run the gas out of the engines while flushing. But then I am no mechanic, so don't take my advice!

Moose, I just talked to Les at EQ about this issue last week. He could not over emphasize enough to run the fuel out of carburated motors if you are going to leave them for over a month.
