Roger, we probably won't stop in Snohomish for lunch. I think the plan is to leave Everett about 10 a.m. Saturday. Some of us are seduced by the thought of buzzing over to Langley for the night after a day trip up the river. Or even bagging the river all together and doing Langley only.
Being an easy going kind of cat, I'll go along with the majority.

That would be my hopes, that we actually begin "motoring" away from the Everett Launch Ramps at 1000 HRS. Since there is no place to "tie up" at Snohomish, a lunch there is not feasible. I'm thinking about having a "Plan A" and a "Plan B"
.
Plan A......have food to eat on board while I'm cruising.
Plan B.....if the rains have brought too much debris down the river to make it safely navigable, to then cruise over to Langley or down to Kingston and have lunch at a restaurant in one of those fine communities. (Of course, we could also eat at the Everett waterfront).
.....AKA....a day of C-Brat flexibility.....whatever the group decides at the moment..... _________________ Dave S.

You know, Dave, that sounds like a good idea to me. And in the spirit of election week, we can split our votes down the middle, hang a few chads, call it a draw, initiate a plethora of lawsuits and go home.

There are 8 boats signed up so far for this cruise. It looks like there will be about a 50 % chance of precipitation with mild wind.It will be interesting to see what condition the river will be after all this rain we are having. |

Yeah, this week's rain may well mean floating woody objects unfriendly to fiberglass. That likely brings Langley into focus.
Our weather here on election day recalls the Olympic Rainforest in December, and effectively is keeping kids, critters and candidates indoors. And unless it shapes up it'll keep the Cat inside as well.
But forecasts show improvement come the weekend, with partly sunny skies and 54 degrees.

The river did get out of shape this week, but did not hit flood stage as was predicted. It maxed out at 23.88 at Snohomish yesterday and 25 feet is flood. Pretty dang high. It sounds like from the discussion that the river is at least 2nd choice. Is that a close guess? With the chance of rain predicted for Sat and Sun, I probably will not trailer north. I will check the weather forcast tomorrow and Friday to have a better idea of the rain situation. If I do change my mind, I will be at the ramp about 9am Sat.

Yesterday morning the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River was lapping at the top of the river bank in Arlington, but this morning it had settled back down. The beautiful dry sunny day today is also helping. Like Robbi eluded to, we'll just have to take it one day at a time and see what Saturday brings. |

Hi Dave,
Below is the marine forcast I copied this morning 11/4, @ 5:25 am.
I will be launching at 10th street Saturday morning and will be looking forward to seeing everyone. I will try to stop by the Snohomish River today and take a look at its condition and give a report tonight. FYI, The Snohomish River tide generally lags about one hour behind the Seattle tide schedule at Langus Park.

Hey, if it rains and our cruising starch is wrinkled, why not just leave our boats at home in their warm beds and meet at Everett Anthony's for lunch?

Are we meeting at the boat launch or Everett marina? We are still planning to spend the night in Edmonds and then run up to Everett early Saturday morning. Looking forward to seeing you all. |

I am going to try and hook up with Fred at Twin Bridges and follow him down to Everett. Spend the night and cruise Sat, trailering back to Guemes Is. Sat evening. Kates off to a weaving thing on Whidbey. _________________ David and Kate
