Have TT that don't work. Plan to check power to the fuse - power to the control unit - then I'm done

What normally goes wrong and how do you diagnosis it - they just laid down in the middle of running

Any advice
Thanks
Hank

Hi Hank,

On our 25, we had the trim tabs quit and it was a fuse behind the panel (in the V-berth area in our 25). Seemed odd that the TT panel lights still lit, but no movement.

Hope that helps,
Jim B.

Hey Hank -

I don't have a clue, but I do have a brand new set of switches and the electronic control box module gizmo that goes between the switches and the tab motors. (When they sent my tabs there was an extra kit with it. They didn't want it back.) If your problem turns out to be in either of those components, I will sure send it to you for nothing.

You know what they say: If it has wires or tires, you will have problems. (That's not really what they say, but this is a family forum.)

Hank, did you ever figure out what the problem was? I have Lencos and this evening one of them does not operate. The switch clicks the relay box and all the wires are hooked up, but only one of the tab actuators work.

I hate them Lencos and I am not too fond of the guy who invented them. I hate 'em so much I get mad when I drive by a WinCo store just because it rhymes. The Lencos I have are too noisy, too slow, and too short on the stroke. The wiring and switch setup is some elaborate problem-in-waiting electronical thing that looks like it was invented by the Wallas stove folks. Now one of the stupid things doesn't work. At least it is in the full up position so I can use the boat until I get time to put some good old Bennett hydraulics on there like I should have done in the first place.
