I'm starting to think about taking the Cosmic C around the Great Loop next year, and would probably want to take along a pair of folding bicycles and maybe some other stuff that would be difficult to store on the boat. I thought that perhaps one of those aerodynamic solid lockable rooftop carriers installed on the cabin roof might be a good idea. Does anyone out there have any experience with such things on C Dories?

We always hung the bikes off the stern rail on our cruising sailboat. I'm not sure how you'd secure a roof top box like you're considering and it'll create a lot of windage.
Send us photos of your solution.

Redfox has a carrier, but it isn't mounted on the cabin roof; he has it on some kind of bracket over the transom. You can see lots of pictures of it in his photo album |
