Jay, thanks for sharing. Much has been learned from you and Wrenny on this trip. So glad that both of you are now safely home to continue on with planned Summer activities with family and friends.

Wrenny’s last entry

Alaska Trip (Final Entry)
Finished on- 8/6/24-8/7/24

This entry is extremely late and I apologize. You see I am a little bit of a perfectionist, when I started this entry I stalled out and was thinking everything had to be perfect. Yes this entry took over a month to write, but as you can see I finally got it done.

Last days in Alaska
June 26th
We left Tracy Arm Cove fairly early in the morning and headed to Juneau. It was hot when we first got there but when it cooled off in the evening, we went on a nice walk to look at the big yachts.

June 27th
This was our full day in Juneau. We went on the bus, I hate busses they give me anxiety. We went on the Gondola, that was fun.

After the Gondola we got a burger which was really good. After that we went to the natural history museum which was my personal favorite.

That was what we did on our full day in Juneau Alaska it was so hot, I was dying of heat.

June 28th
We woke up at 6:00 in the morning and booked it to Skagway. We stopped at Haines because we didn’t get to stop there at the beginning of the trip. Haines is a fun little town but it was fairly hot that day so I was dying of heat. When we got back to Skagway the work began, well not right away first we snooped on some kids that were alone in the boat in front of us, oh no grandpa is rubbing off on me. 😂 One of my greatest memories is when grandpa would snoop on people in Yellowstone with his big ole binoculars (totally not suspicious at all 👀) The work began later when we had to deflate the little boat. We showered after most of the work was done and grandpa lied, he told me there was no spiders in there but of course there was. 😭  We went to bed a little later and grandpa was snoring. 😴

June 29th
We woke up way too early for my personal preference. We loaded the big boat on the trailer and then started cleaning the ocean gunk off, it was a lot of work. Then we started the long drive home. Grandpa was depressed because we were leaving and I tried to cheer him up by cracking cringey jokes, sure I was sad as well but I at least had to try. We stopped at the Alaska sign again because it was foggy and mysterious the first time (which was awesome by the way 👻😉) That was my last day in Alaska I hope you enjoyed.

My Favorite Place.
My favorite place was definitely Warm Springs Bay. A lot of places were straight out of Fantasy but this one stood out the most to me. I had the most freedom here I always took peaceful short walks to the bathroom. From the weird Sulfur water toilet to the waterfall, this place was definitely my favorite. ❤️ 💯

The Most Memorable
This trip packed my overactive brain with lots of memories, but the memories that stood out the most too me are all the memories I made with grandpa. I have made memories with grandpa before but this trip gave him the chance to take me on a once in a lifetime trip to the place that he loves, while also giving me the chance to go on a trip that one out of a billion kids get to go on. We teased each other and annoyed each other in a great way. That is the most memorable thing to me. Love you gramps 😊🥰

The Funniest Memory
I will never ever get to live this down, I don’t think. We were in Warm Springs Bay getting ice in the small boat. We had saw a bear there earlier so I was nervous. Grandpa went to go get the ice and I stayed wild eyed in the boat holding the bear spray for dear life. Granted by now you probably guessed I was not on board with this ice retrieving trip. Anyway I pulled the bear spray off the strap on my life jacket and see this orange cloud in front of me. I shut my eyes tight and tried to stop pulling the trigger. I had burning lips for a while after that I was just glad I didn’t get it into my eyes. 😂

The Whole Trip
This trip was definitely memorable in multiple ways. My emotional range changed all the time, for example when I saw a whale I was scared and happy, sometimes I was enraged with grandpa for being obnoxious, most of the time I was very happy. 😆 I was away from home longer than I ever have before but it was totally worth it. I spent so much quality time with grandpa and had an adventure of a lifetime. My families saying is Byers make your own adventure and this fit into this category perfectly. The trip was awesome and I loved it so much. I hope you all enjoyed my last entry once again I apologize for it being so late. ⏰

Wrenny, thank you for portraying the trip so well from your eyes. You will always remember and cherish this trip. Thanks to Jay to taking you and encouraging your writing the log of your impressions. We all enjoyed the dimension your writing gave to the trip.
