Jay - Is it possible that your small increase in speed with tabs employed is a function of making your boat in essence a foot longer or that you trim your motor so that the thrust is parallel to the surface? Don't know. Perhaps our group has a naval architect who can speak to this increase in speed. John _________________ hopelessly addicted C-Dory user |

Hi Jay,
We got the XerSeas out last weekend, finally. Saw a green C-Dory in the Cochrane Bay area on Sunday - yours?
Thanks for the views of your boat last month - it did help to give me a little motivation. Spent about 40 hrs of work cleaning up my boat and finally got 'er in the water!
Back to the topic (Trim Tabs): Best upgrade I made to my 1983 Classic was to remove the Smart Tabs and fill the 14 holes they made with marine tex. The boat now runs like a, well, boat. Maybe one of these years I'll install some Bennetts. |

Haven’t been up in Cochrane Bay yet this year but thinking this weekend, the weather doesn’t look that great on the outside. We were thinking of checking out Southern end of Knight but not with 3 to 4ft seas in the forecast for the Sound. Haven’t been up in Three fingers so may check that out along with pulling up some shrimp.
Glad you got her out on the water, put on a Permatrim tell you feel like dropping $ on the Trim tabs.
BTW Triple J has Blue trim- Understand you weren’t looking at the trim.
