Don't know if Seadek is in the budget; I bought the step kit for $30 and found it worth every penny. They are exterior pieces and have held up nicely to wear & tear and all sorts of chemicals (deck cleaner, rust remover, black streak remover...).

Be warned it's not cheap, but they can do a custom job and it's nice on the feet/back. Here's a sample $ link.
