I too am thinking of going this route in Anchorage, Dogon Dory. I'm really interested in what you come up with.

I found Dave King very helpful.

He cut the canvas with some changes I requested. I ordered clear panels and some screening. He bent and shipped the frames and hardware. He then walked me through installing it.

I'm pleased with the results.

Good luck

I've been exchanging e-mails with Dave. He needed a few snapshots of the transom on my old angler before working up a quote. The quote is in progress now. I'll be able to give you some numbers when we decide on the final package.

I just returned from Seattle and a trip to King Marine for a new camper-back canvas. I have posted pix in CAVU's album. I was the lucky winner of the canvas door prize at the factory gathering in Jan. A big thanks to C-dory!!

Here's what I came up with for C-Worthy. Two adjustable tent poles, a green tarp (I know, it doesn't match the blue trim) some p-cord, and two suction-cup hooks from Fred Meyer's. I prop it up with the boathook in the motor well betwen the twins.

It's cheap and keeps the pretty boats from anchoring too close. Very Happy

I think I'll have to reconsider my color choice this spring, after I shovel the snow off, and discover all the new "opportunities" for duct tape.

So here's my duct tape joke:

How is duct tape like The Force? Question

Well, it has a dark side, and a light side, and it holds the universe together... Smile

All is not lost, there are two new Canvas outfits in Fairbanks. Both are experienced. One has done jobs for the Boat Shop and they look good. The other is run by a couple guys that separated from Canvas Tent & Supply, to start their own business and is called "Custom Canvas Alaska LLC", specializing in boat tops. Phone# is 907-455-7722, website is customcanvas@alaska.net.

Wow!

Over the last couple of weeks, we finally decided to add camper canvas to Two Lucky Fish. I call Canvas Riggers (Oak Harbor) based on recommendations, they are local (to me), and I know they do great work. But...they are booked 'till October, they wanted the boat for 2-3 weeks, and they wanted an awful lot of money...so...

I called King Marine Canvas a little over a week ago. Dave promised he'd install the camper canvas with ~ 1 week lead time, and wanted the boat for ~ 2 hours. And...the cost was about half of Canvas Riggers. So..today, we trailered Two Lucky Fish to Dave's shop, and sure enough, in two hours he installed camper canvas on Two Lucky Fish - just in time for Blakely. I'm impressed!

Oh yea - Terry, your boat (Rock C) is at King Marine, it is looking fine, the support bows are installed so far - custom designed.

See you all at Blakely this weekend

Thanks Mac
Dave assured me it would be done in time. I'm getting a little nervous Crook I don't want to be motoring about for two weeks with bows only. Will be picking up the boat tomorrow morning on the way to Blakely
See ya there.
