Harvey,
During the week I was cruising with the group, the water temps were consistently 76-77 degrees, sometimes a little warmer in the shallow bays. Air temps were about 90 daytime with lows about mid 60's overnight. Humidity was very low-10-12% which made the temps very comfortable. _________________ Ken Trease

I met a few of you the last two weeks at Lake Powell and would like to thank all of you for letting me examine your C-Dorys and get more of an idea what I'll have when I finally get my own.
Jody Kidd was great, showing Emily and I the details of Voyager. I can only hope to have a C-Dory as nicely outfitted one day. We met Brent and Dixie near the confluence of the San Juan and got to see Discovery. What a great boat! All C-Dory owners seem to be so friendly!
Unfortunately, with the high speed of our houseboat (6mph) we weren't able to catch up to the main C-Pod, but we heard many of you on the radio, especially Bill in Halcyon, but apparently we weren't able to get our radio signal back. Maybe next time.
In our two weeks at the lake we did a great deal of hiking, fishing, and releaxing. If you'd like to see additional pictures of Lake Powell, they can be found in several temporary albums I've stored on my webpage. I'll be removing them and adding them to a more permanent album sometime this fall or winter. Here's an example of the beautiful sites we were able to see over our two weeks:
This is a waterfall at the back of Wilson Creek.
I hope you especially enjoy the photos I took while hiking through the lush greenery of Deep Canyon, which is one of the prettiest hikes you'll find in Lake Powell.

Bill/Pat,
Sorry I missed you both. I go to Powell all the time, so hopefully I might make it next year. What would be even better would be to make it next year in a C-Dory!
You guys should go up the San Juan. That's the BEST part of the lake! Not many people, not many boats, great fishing, and some of the best hiking available. The hike up Deep Canyon was superb. I'd never been as far as I went this year. Next year maybe I'll go further.
Here's a hike you might enjoy too:

Up to the top of the Peekaboo Arches, which are shown here:

All have a nice day!

WOW - these are incredible pictures. What a trip! Too bad that I will be on the Great Loop for the next couple of years and not able to make it out home to Utah until 2011.
I certainly envy those who have been able to do this by boat.

So, when you are taking pictures FROM your boat, there tend not to be very many pictures OF your boat! But Bill was kind enough to fix that! Here are a bunch of pix of Daydream and crew (and others) at Lake Powell, courtesy of Bill... |
