Each year this gathering is delightful, and filled with fun folks!
Ruth said it best in her email as she so often does.
Thanks to all of you who came and shared and to those who missed this year, maybe next year...
What a wonderful group!
Patti and Barry, you have outdone yourselves...

Patti and Barry, thanks for the great gathering.
I also have to mention Rodger for the dock help. (he also convinced us both to buy a pair of Keen water shoes)
Jim--we have known you a long time--never relized the depth of your talents!
Thisaway left at 8:40, and arrived at John Wayne at 10:40. It was our 14th crossing of the straits, and the smoothest ever!
At 2:30, we have preped the boat for Powell, including some wax after a complete scubbing, engine prep, with carbs drain and gotten into land travel mode at Sequim. We will spend 4 more days with our friend, and then the quick trip to boat storage at Powell, and then fast track to P cola.
So great to meet many new friends, as well as see old ones. We hope to see many of you at Catalina and and the Sept Powell gathering.
If you get to Florida, don't forget Camp Thataway!
The C Dory door mat is way too beautiful to step on (even Angel would not get on it!)

Daydream is back in our driveway, and Amy Marie is back in Garry's driveway two doors up the street! Uneventful crossing back to Squalicum, easy retrieval (our goal post guides with a spacer worked perfectly!), nice lunch with Jim and Laurie at the Bayside, run down the freeway, and here we are, with some more great memories of a wonderful CBGT! _________________

What a great weekend. Thanks Patti and Barry and all the helpers. Great food and company. Carolyn says she feels like family already this was her second gathering. Great time had. We wandered over to Sidney also and will pull out tomorrow. Special time with our good bud Casey from Florida for some great time together. Thanks Casey. See you all down the road and in Comox especially. George and Carolyn |

What a great, great weekend. Thanks, Barry and Patty for being such gracious hosts and for charming the sun. We so enjoyed getting to know everyone.
Jon: so it turns out Gypsy River must have been a bad influence on Caiprianha. She decided to run 3ft rapids off the West side of Camano this afternoon. Conditions were a little different than forecast between Cama Beach and Camano Head. But, like Les has said, she bobbed like a cork and did great—Susan and Tom, you'd be proud of us No doubt Reverend Jim's christening helped tame the sea Gods.
We caught some great photos and will post them tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you all again in La Conner. _________________ Amy & Paul

Hope all got home (or to where ever they were headed) safely. It was a fabulous day at work but had to be done this time. Sure looks like I missed a good one, (ahh they always are)
Next year for sure. Now on to LaConner and.....

What a gathering!
Kim and I had a wonderful time meeting new Brats and catching up with all we know. Was another great time and Barry did it again! He really knows how to dance to get that sun out!
The potluck gets better every year and the entertainment, too! Thanks Jim!
Christenings this morning at C-Dory Church by Reverend Jim, always very special.
Uneventful return to Cornet Bay, a nice flat calm trip, just a little choppy close to Deception Island, but a flood tide through Deception Pass made it easy.
Can't wait until the next year.

Indeed, a Great Gathering ... thanks to Barry & Patti for the arrangements.
I'm back in Anacortes after a comfortable crossing (on the 'ferry!). It was interesting having the truck in FH this time. Of all the occasions I've been to FH, this was the first time I had an opportunity to explore inland. Nice island, for Sure. George, Carolyn and I spent a few hours Saturday afternoon driving around ... Fun! Upon arriving back in Anacortes I happily realized the $51 (65+ fare) evidently was for the roundtrip, not a one way price. Cool! Now I understand why half of Seattle seemed to be evacuating the 'city on Friday afternoon! (NOTE TO SELF: Next time arrange to be on the ferry about noon, not 4PM!)
I'm off to SeaTac (and Florida) tomorrow morning, then back on June 7 to launch the boat and begin the summer cruising; I can hardly wait. I'll be looking forward to seeing folks all along the way....
Thanks to All for a great 'Gathering!
Best,
Casey

Oh my, what can I post that everyone else hasn't covered. Salty followed Anna Leigh back yesterday across Rosario Strait when we veered off to do just a wee bit more cruising before heading back to Cap Sante. Around Burrows and then decided to cruise back to James Island for lunch. Alas no room at the dock but we enjoyed our mini cruise anyway. Home ( temporarily) to Anacortes around 4:30. A very wet arrival!
We would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome this weekend. What a wonderful group of people. I know we will be well known as those crazy people with 3 dogs on a 22 but Tess Charlie and Annie all enjoyed the outing as well.
Special thanks to David from Anna Leigh for being our cruise guide, Bob and Marie and Carolyn and George our slip mates....Barry and Patti, kudos for a fantabulous ( my descriptive word) very special weekend. Weather was perfect and we are going home to Montana with tan lines. Didn't Barry have something to do with that? I know we met a lot of folks and sorry if there were some we did not get to meet or chat with....not that we didn 't want to just not enough time.
Craig has a tons of questions to ask everyone but I will get them posted when we get home. We plan to add a camper back and radar arch to Salty in the near future and get us ready to camp...
Unless.....Jim and Joan decide to sell Wild Blue........JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!
Hope you all have a great summer...our plan is to be back here in September for another week of play after haying season is wrapped up and irrigation water is shut down. Our next adventure is a horse packing trip into the wilderness area of Montana with our horses. If you are ever in our neck of the woods please stop....home grown beef always on the menu..

What a fun weekend! Thanks to Barry & Patti for all their hard work to organize it. M said it was nice to NOT be at the hospital for 5 straight days and I sure didn't miss my uniform. Enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. Fred I did find my tools...just not where I remembered they were. Glad that Tom figured out his engine issue too.
Crossing back was uneventful and Jim & Laurie were right with us...until we each took different routes near Lummi and they beat us to Squalicom. Got home and the rain was coming down. A quick offload & rinse and it was an early night.
We are really looking forward to Comax!

Man, was it CRAPPY there for a while! I was doing 5 knots for a LONG time and thinking about bail-out spots. Arwen and I decided to "take a break" in Langley, but by the time we got down there the seas had moderated quite a bit. We took a break anyway. Then I switched crew at Shilshole, and had 12-year-old Kiera help me through the locks. For the first time ever, Two Lucky Fish had the entire small lock to herself.
Thanks Barry and Patti, and all the rest as well; it was a great weekend! _________________ Timothy R. R. Flanagan |

Hang tite Caiprianha. We did not tell u there would be a test going home. This was such a great gathering!! I've been looking at rental houses here in Friday Harbor. I don't know whether that is a good sign or bad. This is a really funky little town. Found a B&B on a sailboat at slip 13. |
