Ruth and Joe,
As always, you guys are the BEST.
Sorry our visit was so short but still happy to have met many friends old and new.
Not sorry to have missed Sunday morning. Looked out of the window and that was enough.
Still on plan to join up with the Gulf gang about Thursday/Friday in Ganges and play it by ear from there.

Many Thanks to Ruth and Joe for their help in putting this event together and a special thanks to the person who installed the change machine up by the shower house too!!!
I really enjoyed all the laughs and fun with my NW C-Brats once again. I look forward to my return to the area in the mid August timeframe...maybe some of us can get together on the water then.

Ruth and Joe, thanks for the warm welcome, the little plaque and the great hugs. Special thanks to Reverend Dave and the folks at the Birch Bay "Senior Center." Wish I could have been there to see the monster '29 but maybe I'll spot it tomorrow since I'm swinging by the factory before heading for Seatac and home. It was great fun meeting folk I had only read about and typed at, like Brock, Oldgrowth, DaveM and most especially that C-Brat (and Naval) legend, ol' "Dusty." Meeting Dusty completed one of my major goals for this trip.
Too bad Mike couldn't make it. I even rented a Dodge in his honor. Maybe at SBS....
Take care, hope to see y'all at SBS once again or maybe on a Lake Powell trip. Rumor has it that Rana Verde Chris might be pursuaded to set up one in late September.

Okay, Dave! That did it! After reading all these great posts I am sitting here getting weepy enough that I almost can't see the screen in front of me.
We sure have a lot of folks to THANK and we have to start with Lee and Ronalee Kincaid (owner of the 25 CD "ORAYO") who opened the doors of the Squalicum Yacht Club for all of us. You folks are an absolute blessing
To Bill and Kim of Cresent City, CA....owners of SLOW-N-EASY, our thanks for sending up the plaques that were so deeply appreciated by everyone. Do hope that Bellingham will be a destination for you someday
DA NAG wasn't here this year to make lattes so we brought down some coffee and rolls. We insisted that there wasn't any need for a contribution but to those who would not take NO for an answer, we deeply appreciate your generosity And let's not forget 'Sneaky Pete"...no not that one that the little kids watch on TV but the one who placed $$ in my red tool box. That was certainly a surprise Thank you!
Rev. Dave, Thanks for making the christenings an absolute delight.
Dusty, thanks for keeping us in such good humor at the dinner table Friday evening. Not to mention Byrdman's joke about the first and second place blue and red ribbons.
Not only did we make the effort but we deeply appreciate how everyone made plans for this event like adjusting their schedules, traveling long distances, filling their gas tank, suppying food and drink and last but not least.......sticking out their lower lip to catch the raindrops.
YOU ARE ALL THE GREATEST
OUR THANKS TO ALL OF YOU

Thank you Ruth and Joe....you folks are fantastic!
Thanks to David of Anna Leigh, "Sea Shift" is now "sporting' its' '07 Coast Guard vessel inspection sticker.
Ron, thank you for placing me in the helm seat of your R '25 Tug! That is one fine vessel to pilot!
It was great to again visit with C-Brats I've known in person before and to meet new C-Brats in person.
David ("Oldgrowth") Your "stretched" 16' cruiser looks great!
For those of you that were not around for the Sunday morning christenings..............I had attempted to arrange the traditional Bellingham Gathering U. S. Coast Guard helicopter "fly by" during the christenings but due to the inclement weather was unable to pull that one off... ....however, I do wish to thank the management of the Burlington Northern Railroad for accomodating us with a "drive by" train with its' whistle blaring through the misty morning as we were christening the last vessel... _________________ Dave S.

Joe and Ruth you are the poster kids for the C-Brats Group. It is fine people like you that make us want to stay connected.
We owe you a huge DEBT of gratitude because you talked us into our first C-Dory several years back and you were behind us the whole way when we purchased the TUG.
The event sure reflected your hearts. It was HUGE
Thanks

Thanks also to all of you folks for making it such a wonderful group to visit each and every time!
Amy and I sure had a nice 3 day weekend. Really enjoyed seeing Bellingham for the first time.
Now off to Montana tomorrow after work for 4 days to visit family and see a new nephew born July 10th.
Safe travels and boating to all.

Finally home and attempting to catch-up...
WOW! What a wonderful group of people - Tricia and I can not thank everyone enough for all of your grand hospitality.
Ruth and Joe - Thank you for all of the tremendous work you did in organizing this event and for making two strangers feel at home.
Tom and Susan (Susan-E) - Thank you for the trip to Orcas Island on your 22 - we hope not to break your string of giving rides to future C-Dory owners!
Shelly and Lyle (Bess-C) - Thank you for the ride back from Orcas on your 25 - a wonderful craft.
Joan and Jim (Wild Blue) - Thank you for letting us on your boat and look around - Tricia says thanks as she needed a 'kitty fix' and Molly's purring did the trick.
And finally thank you to everyone who was kind enough to invite us onto their boats and greet us with a smile. We look forward meeting with you all again. |

Wow, and that participation was on a July weekend disguised as March. Wind, rain, more of the same, yet from many places we came.
Droplets of liquid couldn't extinguish the warm friendships rekindled at the second annual Bellingham Bash. And again it was made possible by two hard-working locals who did all they could to accommodate and spoil attending Brats. They succeeded.
I really think, Joe and Ruth, that to keep up with yourselves and our heightened expectations, you might consider quarterly gigs at your digs.
Thank you so much for a seamless reception, your giving spirit and your kind hearts. Big hugs!
