"That certainly explains why things are not displaying correctly but does not explain how the above crap got there. What, exactly are you doing to insert colored text?"
Roger-
Just the normal procedure of highlighting the text desired with the mouse, then going to the "color" drop-down menu, and clicking on the color desired, such as "red".
Has always worked before that way.
Thanks for any help!

TEST
MAGIC!
I GOT THE ABOVE TO WORK BY DOING THE STANDARD PROCEDURE AND THEN MANUALLY DELETING THE #44444 AND THE EXTRA PARENTHESIS AND /'S.
I HAVE RE-BOOTED BEFORE W/O SUCCESSFUL CHANGE.
WILL COME BACK AND EDIT THIS POST IN FIREFOX INSTEAD OF SAFARI AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
********************************************
FIREFOX TEST
So it works OK in Firefox, but not in Safari! Guess I need to clean up/update/replace my Safari program !?!?!?
Note: the Automatic spellcheck program that magically appeared last week in Safari that underlines spelling errors with red dots doesn't appear in Firefox.
That program sees coded information as a spelling error and underlines these coded "spelling errors" with red dots. Maybe the extra #44444 and various parentheses and/'s are the code for spelling errors, and are going into/onto the code and screwing up the result? Seems logical, of course.
Next question: where, when, and how did the spelling error feature get into Safari???
Joe.
P.S. : cute when you mispell "spelling errors" and get "speeling errors"!

WOW !
I know I'm a considered by some family members as computer illiterate but this is the first time that I've been totally clueless as to what people are talking about on a chat board.
I think I need to bond with my kids more.

Dan-
That Mac-hine (Mac-"Hinny") inventive speeling or spelling can be translated into Mac-behind or Mac-A** by zealous Windoze Prozzzzz..... Users. I wasn't going to bring it up, but since it seems appropriate here, ............!
If what you say is true, it may also be that they're implying that my brains are between the keyboard and the back of the chair, but not at the top of my head?
Looking ahead, above, beyond, and especially behind in my Safari Adventure to cover my behind, Joe. |
