Way to go Roger. Now you don't even need the Broadband Sounder since it's already built into the HDS-8.
Very cool deal from Lowrance!!! So when are we going fishing??

| My understanding is that the broadband sonar is an add on to the regular sonar that can be standard in the HDS-8. There are different HDS-8 models, and not all have the sonar as part of the display. |

That's true - however, the person on the phone indicated that the unit they would send had the integrated sonar and an included transducer. I have to assume she was correct when she said. The HDS-8M is just the GPS, the HDS-8 is the GSP and sounder combined.

| I forgot that they mentioned the transducer. So yeah, you should get the unit with the sounder in it- but the Broadband Sounder upgrade is still seperate, right? |

It's my understanding that the built in sounder in the HDS units IS the same as the broadband sounder unit that was an add-on to previous units. See Lowrance Announces HDS High-Definition Multifunction Chartplotter with Built-in Broadband Sounder. The STRUCTURE Scan is an add-on to the HDS units. At least that's what I think is correct. I have to admit the Lowrance literature and website is a little opaque to me. |

Hope this kind of service continues to spread through the industry. I know my allegiance to Garmin went way up when they replaced my four year old 276C with a brand new unit when I couldn't get it to update and they couldn't either.
