Good idea on the head - IF it works well on the pot. water, I may do the same. _________________ Dave W.

Here’s a larger hatch to the water tank on my ’05 CD25. The tank now has marks drawn to show number of gallons remaining.

If you have the standard Tom Cat head, you can look right into the holding tank, since it is right below the valve--nasty perhaps--but if it gets full, you will know it. The holding tanks are only about 9 gallons. So you do have to manage this. I have the same size tank on my Road Trek RV--that is kept in Calif. I can go a bit over a week with careful use--and other facilities when necessary...
It will be interesting to see how all of these work out. I have had RV's continously (except the 4 years when we were cruising Europe) since 1962--and have had my share of the RV moniters. They work fairly well--but not always. There are lots of choices--and I guess that nothing is perfect. _________________ Bob Austin

Toyman, the tank in our 25 is in the bow, I cut hatches in the top of the berths and dug out all the foam, now the tank in front is visable to check the water level, the little screw in one on the v-berth face looks good for lower levels too. Very simple and more storage space and a spot for a 2nd simple depth sounder transducer epoxied to the hull. (No hull core forward of the bulkhead) _________________ Micah Curtis and Dana, RN
